MQM To Hold Mass Gathering On 6th July To Show Solidarity With Army

Deputy Convener MQM Coordination Committee Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced 6th July on Sunday at 4pm in Jinnah Park adjacent to Mazar-e-Quaid for the historical mass gathering to express solidarity with Pakistan army.
Speaking at a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat, Dr Khalid, along with members of MQM Coordination Committee Syed Aminul Haq and Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, said the entire nation had to show the unity against terrorists and extremists. He said the solidarity gathering would ensure that the nation stood side by side for its army and saluted them for fighting against terrorists.
He said Pakistan, since its foundation, had been suffering extraordinary crises and situations, and the current internal threat to its sovereignty and existence. He asserted that MQM Chief Altaf Hussain kept indicating the terrorists’ hideouts in Pakistan, especially in Karachi.
Dr Khalid said due to negligible approach of the former governments to tackle the problems, it was unfortunately that the terrorists’ roots were deepened dangerous level. He said what they had sown in the past two to three decades the current and generations next had to reap it. He said terrorism beseeched the entire society, including worship places, shrines of Sufi saints, schools and security forces.
He said army began an inevitable operation against terrorism and extremism. He said people deliberately tried to overshadow the efforts of clinching treasonous elements and avoiding army’s sacrifices for the nation. He said Model Town incident hurt army’s morale and nation’s spirit to fight against terrorism.
Dr Khalid said MQM had decided to organize a mass gathering to show solidarity with Pakistan army and its soldiers who were continuously sacrificing lives for their fellow countrymen. He said his party felt its responsibility to stand side by side to express its solidarity with fighting soldiers.
He said the mass gathering was decided to organize in Jinnah Park adjacent to Mazar-e-Quaid at 4pm on 6th July Sunday. He appealed to the entire nation to hugely participate in the historical gathering and rendered proofs of their love and affection to the country’s army.
Replying to a question, Dr Khalid said efforts were to settle Internally Displaced persons (IDPs) near their native areas. He said after Altaf Hussain’s appeal regarding assistance fund for the IDPs, MQM workers and supporters donated their one-day salary to the IDP fund.
