Truly said ...............
imposable in the presence of New Local Govt. ordinance and also against the mandate of citizens of Urban Sindh.
I just don't understand this concept of 'Muhajir'. How can the grandchild of a "Muhajir' still claim to be a "Muhajir'? Anyone care to explain?
'Muhajir' comes from the Arabic مهاجر muhāǧir, basically meaning Immigrant.
Or is this just stupid sense of wanting to belong to a tribal/ ethnicity? That these grandchildren can't seem to get rid of?
Most social scientist have settled that after 1.5 generations it is 94% likely that a second generation immigrant will claim the citizenship of the host country. Likely to identify themselves as locals.
The 'Muhajir' who settled in Punjab or even NWFP have been able to assimilate, while the 'Muhajir' settling in Karachi seem so inclined to claim 'Muhajir' rights.
If MQM or any 'Muhajir' thinks that they are doing a benefit to Pakistan by living in Pakistan, they can leave. Being a Pakistani is not a Nuksan. Perhaps life in Gujarat or Uttar Pradesh would be better for them. Where they'll probably see their daughters raped, sons lynched and property stolen because of their religion.
No offense to India.
