it's a religious restriction, I think some Granth says followers of Sikhi must only eat "jhatka" meat.
for others it comes with the idea/myth of "halal/kosher tax", where only eating meat prepared by one's community is a way of indirectly taxing/disadvantaging non-members.
as far as I know kosher or halal tax isn't real.
but some meat eaters don't halal because they think it's a specially cruel way of killing animals, and without stunning it's unnecessarily painful. some time back a law was proposed to ban cruel meat in either UK or EU, but nothing seems to have come out of it.

Depends on the Sikh, but those in the Khalsa don't eat at all, most of those don't eat meat at all unless it's Nihangs who kill with Jhatka.
The law to ban halal meat wasn't proposed at all in the UK, and in only a handful of European countries. As for why nothing came of it, the vast majority of meat is now stunned whether in the EU or UK, so hence it's gone away. Although in the UK that's not a requirement as it is in the EU, but many Islamic scholars have said it is fine as long as the animal does not die.

There is no denying that other Muslims (besides Punjabis) also suffered during partition but the scale and depth of the suffering of Punjab and Punjabis is not comparable to that of non-Punjabis. Nearly six million Muslims were expelled from East Punjab by Hindus and Sikhs. An estimated 0.5-0.8 million of them never made it alive to Pakistan. 2.5 % of those who made it alive to Pakistan, settled outside Pakistani Punjab. As per 1951 census, i.e. four years later, the total number of "Punjabi Mohajirs" in Pakistani Punjab was 5.28 million.

While population of Karachi grew dramatically after partition in August 1947, as per the 1951 census, the total population of Karachi was 1.1 million out of which only 0.6 million were Mohajirs, including Mohajirs from Punjab and Delhi. The most violent phase of partition lasted until November 1947 and by that time no Muslim was left in Indian Punjab. On the other hand, most of the Mohajirs from UP, Bihar, Gujrat etc. came to Karachi in later years under relatively much calmer circumstances. Almost one hundred thousand Mohajirs kept coming to Karachi every year, as late as 1954.

i am sure they are but it all started with Karachi then first under the patronage of alpha mafia he destroyed khi industries then again under the patronage of alpha mafia mam destroyed peace of khi and industries moved out of khi into punjab! the whole process was methodical and systematic!

so to find the criminal find the beneficiary!

you do know that Lahore and central Punjab was very developed during British era, that's why it was home to many industries for at least a 80 to 100 years now, look up Punjab triangle and its history,
Lahore was home to one of the biggest film industry after Mumbai and Kolkata and film industries are always in big, devaloped cities

your issues means you consider Punjab it to be "dehat" while in reality it has always the industrial powerhouse of this region for around 100 years now (while at the same time it also provided agricultural needs of the country in conjunction with interior Sindh)

These are poor people mostly illegal bangladeshi , those who went to pakistan were wealthy ,,industrialists , landlords , zamindars , educated aristocracy , mostly high or educated middle class .and well to do muslims . They became poorer in pakistan.
