MP seeks IAF base in Arunachal Pradesh

GUWAHATI: Arunachal West MP Takam Sanjoy has urged Defence Minister A.K. Antony to set up an Indian Air Force base in Arunachal Pradesh and fund the mule tracks and porter tracks in the State along the border with China.

Mr. Sanjoy told journalists here that Mr. Antony had assured him that eight defence airports would be opened and two more Army divisions deployed in the State. The Arunachal Pradesh government on June 9 handed over eight Advanced Landing Grounds of the State to the Defence Ministry.

He told Mr. Antony that massive development work had been undertaken by China along the border. India should embark on a similar project in Arunachal Pradesh. He also drew Mr. Antony’s attention to the Arunachal Pradesh government’s plan for raising four battalions of Arunachal Scouts, similar to the Ladakh Scouts.

And whether there are Indians there or martians, if the Chinese claim it and decide to make good on it. Saying there are Indians there or Americans there will make only the slightest of difference in overall strategy.
Just the same as Kashmir is dominated by Kashmiri's, But there are Indians sitting there aren't they?.. and eventually, they will amalgamate the Kashimiri's if they act sensibly. Just as the Chinese could if they decide to act on the area.. which I doubt.

what do you mean by this buddy?You meant eventually kashmiri's will be won by India?Unless that part of India gets secular like other parts of India ,"amalgamation" is not really possible.But sure ,there are kashmiri business people in many parts of India .they don't want to talk about kashmir much..??

The Indian military is already looking to beef up its presence in the North East, specially along the Indo-China border. One squadron of Su-30MKI's has already been relocated there, to be followed by nearly 60,000 specialized troops and major up gradation of the infrastructure(which has already commenced).

Now this deployment and the sudden upping of the guard is not because the Indian's have decided to be aggressive all of a sudden, but to match China's own up gradation and force levels that have seen a rise in the recent past.

now did'nt you read that the area is going to get additional troops/air bases / then an add scout group by the AP STATE GOVT?

By People I meant population.. referring t your claim about Indians and Indians being there..
You may move your entire army there.. As Egypt did in the Sinai... But the laws of better command still apply. Which could go anywhere.. What I state is the deterrence value of an army. IF Arunachal has substantial value to the Chinese they will not relent in their efforts to obtain it. Overtly or covertly.
Now about my comment on Kashimir.. yes.. Kashmir can be amalgamated.. by introducing secularism and providing unequaled opportunities for some time to the ones that matter. The youth of Kashmir, A young mind is best to indoctrinate and win over than an old geezer. Give a Young man from Kashmir a scholarship to Nagpur. Provide him incentives to use micro financing. And Teach him.. PROVE it to him that yes, You can be a Muslim or a Hindu, A Shi'te or Sunni, You will be given equal preference in employment and your future is secure. That is the way to amalgamate Kashmir.

Newsflash: Kashmiris enjoy the same rights and some exclusive ones as enjoyed by the rest of the population in India.
But then you do have some ahsanfarmamoshes who exploit everything our constitution offers and badmouth India whenever they get an opportunity to open their noiseboxes. And thats where the picture gets reported and helps develop a distorted vision of the ground realities.
BTW what has Kashmir got to do with the threats in Arunachal Pradesh? Cant our Pakistani brothers discuss anything exclusively without dragging Kashmir into it? Or is it that your vision/thinking/analytical ability is limited and cannot comprehend anything without looking at it through Kashmir tinted glasses?

Kashimir is a good example of a hostile takeover against the wishes of the people. If it soo irritates you i shall cite another example, lets say, Us Hindustani's. Whom the british took over using our own people.
However, If Kashmiri's did enjoy the same rights, There would be no problem there, currently you have a 500000+ armed force in Kashmir just to tackle the threat from Pakistan?
If the population was satisfied, given equal rights, Kashmiri's of all religions would be weaned away from their demand for freedom and even those who demand a seperate homeland would see the folly in their claim. My assessment, Kashmir is now an integral part of India but the Indian government is not acknowledging that in reality and honestly. Scars of Human right abuses wont go away, to deny them is cruel and unjust. But to accept the mistakes of the past, and try to win over the Kashmiri instead of suppressing dissent is the goal. its quite simple, If your offer is better than LeT's or ISI's. The Kashmiri will come to you. As far as foreign miscreants are concerned. Improve border security, what good is your friendship with Israel if their experience on containment is not applied.
