WE PAKISTANIS are a weird lot!! we have no electricity,no water & inflation is high and yet we say jiyaaa bhutto!! hazara subaa banegaa!!

why are we diverting our attention from major issues of water,electricity & roti! after all hazara will be a part of pakistan so is sindh,balochistan,nwfp & punjab!

Then we people lament all day long, the pathetic condition of our fatherland.

The reason is that these illiterate 170 million "LAATON KAY BHOOT" can never agree to something using the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS as specified by the constitution.

And then, when some say that this country needs an ADOLF HITLER or JOSEF STALIN, people start to cringe their faces as if they are very EDUCATED, CIVILIZED CITIZENS of a MODERN STATE.

according to survery the 72% of hazara population is educated... who u calling illetrate ... and peshawar population is 42% .... go and check analysis ... even peshawar contain more hindko speaking people than pushtoo .... and being minority doesnt mean u dont have right to speak or say ur opinion .... even swat laki marwat etc areas they even dont support anp and this khyber pakhtoonkhwa **** .... so just shut up .... and accept the truth of hazara being region and independent identity ... anp r bullshit who started all this issue and they r not sincere to pak istan and not even pushtoons here in pakistan ....

ANP's founder was anti state , he was againt the creation of Pakistan and in the end he didnt even want to be burried in Pakistan.

The current batch of ANP leaders are no different , they have said on record 'Lar or Bar yo afghan' , roughy mean here or there afghans are one.

What ANP has done is to use balck mail to get the whole of NWFP renamed to Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa and then start calling all others who live in that province as a 'minortiy' and as seen in Abbotabad has even used violent force against those who dont agree with the renaming of the province.

If one looks at afghanistan this is a familair pattern. Many past ruler of Afghanistan ( from Abdur Rehman to Daud Khan ) have used simialr tacticts to some how 'pashtunize' the whole of afghanistan and call all others a 'minority' where as its not just pashtuns that live in afghansitan but signifact populations of Tajik , Uzbeck and Hazara also live there.

we must not let this happen in Pakistan and any such attempt by any ethnic based party to undermine the social fabric of Pakistan must be stopped by any means.

This act of pushing for name change using black mail and then using violence to supress dissent is reprehensible and it must be condemned

Why should they move? Is this not their land and home? Do they not have a say in how things are run? Peaceful protest is the right of every individual (or should be) and given that we do not know who was responsible for the violence, it is unfair to blame the protesters automatically.

I know this first hand. I studied in Peshawar university.
Hazara is there for centuries. and people of all faith and religion are there and their name still in tact, like Huripur, Manshera etc.

Field Marshal Ayub Khan was from Haripur-Hazara and was born in Hinko speaking family.

Ayub Khan shifted the Panjab regimental centre to Mardan and that has been a major source of takleef to the ultra nationalist ( perhaps should be called facists ) forces in NWFP.

Ayub Khan was a patriot , not only he b ! tch slapped india in 1965 but around the same time the faggot daud khan , who was running his 'pashtunistan' propaganda from Kabul radio, got his rear hannded to him under the leadership of Ayub Khan.

Violent protests continue over renaming province of Pakistan as seven killed

The ongoing protest in Hazara division against renaming Pakistan's North West Frontier Province intensified on Tuesday as thousands of protesters were joined by lawyers and workers from political parties who clashed with police and burnt public property.

So far at least seven people have been killed and more than 200 injured in clashes between protesters and police as the later opened fire on the demonstrators on Monday.

On Tuesday complete shutter down strike was observed across Hazara as thousands of protesters marched in the streets blocking all entry and exit points for vehicular traffic cutting the entire division literally from the rest of the country.

The city management announced to close all educational institutions for three days and Hazara University and all its campuses will remain closed for indefinite period.

Rallies and protest demonstrations were held in Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Oghi, Balakot, and Garihabibullah.

The cause of the violent protests is the clause in the recently voted constitutional reforms bill, aimed at renaming North West Frontier Province to “Khyber Pukhtunkhwa”.

The constitutional reforms bill the 18th amendment to strengthen parliamentary democracy and devolve greater power to the provinces was voted through the lower house of parliament in a unanimous vote last week.

The bill has to be passed into a law by the upper house of the parliament.
Hazara division of Pakistan is considered stronghold of opposition leader Nawaz Sharif’s political party PML-N, however his party’s support for the stated bill has shocked and angered the area people.

On Tuesday the protesters expressing their anger over Nawaz Sharif’s stance, pelted official buildings and the PML-N secretariat in Abbottabad and Mansehra. They also set ablaze tyres on the streets in some of the areas.

The people of the area want a neutral name for the province accommodating their ethnic representation as well along with the majority Pashtun population of the province.
Speaking at the rallies, speakers reiterated their demand for either giving a neutral name to the province acceptable to all ethnic groups or give status of a separate province to Hazara.

The legal fraternity has also joined the protest as on the call of high court bar association Hazara Division, the lawyers boycotted the court proceedings. The lawyers also took out a protest rally, and marched through various roads and culminated at the Zafar Ground.

They adopted a unanimous resolution demanding the government to declare Hazara a separate province and arrest DIG and Commissioner Hazara who ordered the firing, which left seven protestors dead on Monday.

The demonstrators included supporters of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q faction.

The party has said it would oppose constitutional reform package, which accepts ethnic majority Pashtun community's longstanding demand to rename the province, in the senate or upper house.

So far angry protestors burnt police mobiles, one Edhi ambulance and also set on fire the Cantt Police Station. The protestors also damaged a number of billboards on the main Karakuram Highway.

Police fired tear gas shells and opened fire to disperse the crowd as the authorities had banned public gatherings in the city, said a senior police official.

The spokesman of the Anti Pukhtoonkhawa movement Naseer Khan Jadoon said that they were carrying out peaceful protest when the police started shelling and opened indiscriminate fire.

However District police chief Iqbal Khan told journalists that police opened fire in self-defence after a mob had besieged the Mirpur police station.

The district administration had imposed Section 144 in the city, banning rallies and public gatherings.

Meanwhile the main districts of Hazara including Abbottabad and Mansehra are observing mourning for those seven people killed so far in the protests.

Funeral prayers in absentia were offered in Havailian and Galiat for those killed in yesterday’s riots and their funeral prayers offered in Mansehra, Garhi Habibullah and Tehsil Balakot.

ANP minister submits motion in NWFP PA​

PESHAWAR: NWFP Minister for Higher Education Qazi Mohammad Asad submitted a resolution in the NWFP Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday asking the provincial government to recommend to the federal government to declare Hazara separate province after violent protests against the renaming of the province as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Qazi Asad, who won the 2008 elections from Haripur as an independent candidate, was inducted into the provincial cabinet after he joined the Awami National Party (ANP). He told The News that neither he violated the party discipline nor his party had barred him from moving such a resolution.

In his resolution, the mover has asked the provincial government to recommend to the federal government to declare Hazara a separate province for the better administration of provincial affairs and fulfil the demands of the people of the area.

Qazi Asad, who had also won election from Haripur on the PML-Q’s ticket in 2002, was the only member of the provincial assembly who did not vote for the then president General Pervez Musharraf during presidential election. He is the first member of the ANP-led provincial government, who submitted a resolution seeking provincial status for Hazara division.

According to him, the ANP is a democratic party and he had the right to move such a resolution in his personal capacity. The minister said his party had not discussed or imposed any ban on any member from making such demands.

There have been protests in parts of Hazara since the PML-N and ANP agreed on giving a new name of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to NWFP in the 18th Amendment on March 31. At least nine persons were killed and over 100 were injured in the violent protests against the renaming in Abbottabad on Monday. The protesters had also set ablaze the party office of Qazi Asad in his hometown Haripur.

Out of the total 20 members from Hazara in the 124 members NWFP Assembly, the ANP and PPP have four members each while MMA has three MPAs, PML-Q and its Likeminded group has one each, PML-N’s six and independents would make no difference even if all the members support the resolution moved by Qazi Asad.

The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal member of the assembly from Mansehra, Mufti Kifayatullah, has also submitted a separate motion in the assembly secretariat opposing the name Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa. He has argued that the elected assembly had earlier passed a resolution in favour of Pakhtoonkhwa. He took the plea that no party had the right to make any change to that name.

The Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao has also adopted the same stance and said the major political parties should have brought the renaming issue to the provincial assembly once again if they wanted any change to Pakhtoonkhwa already passed by the assembly.

Political observers believe the PML-N legislators, particularly those from Hazara, are in hot waters as they have failed to convince their electorate about the new name Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to which their party leadership had agreed.

Some central leaders of the party later said to have admitted in private that they did not expect such strong reaction from the people of Hazara and had now suggested changes in name for the province approved by the constitutional reforms committee.

After so much hue and cry even the current provinces are not willing to take all the responsibilities (the federal government is willing to relinquish) on their shoulders citing budget limitations.

Does making a province solve anything if the province is not economically self sustainable in any way?

I have no issue in making smaller provinces, but it should not be done overnight and without looking at economics.
