TURKEY ANNOUNCES NATIONAL MOURNING OVER PAKISTAN ATTACK

1418748586392.jpg

ISTANBUL —Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu announced one day of national mourning on Wednesday for more than 100 victims,
mostly children killed in terrorist attack on Pakistani school Tuesday.

"I offer my condolences to Pakistan and harshly condemn the attack," Davutoğlu said in press conference with the visiting Chad Prime Minister Kalzeubet Pahimi Deubet in Ankara.

President Erdoğan called Pakistani counter-part Mamnoon Hussein and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday over the deadly attack offering condolences to the country and the victims' families.

During the phone call, Erdoğan strongly condemned the attack that targeted defenseless children while they were learning and said he sincerely believes the people of Pakistan will never allow terrorists to reach their goals in the country.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack and offered its condolences to the victims' families.

A group of gunmen attacked Tuesday a school, killing 141 people -- 132 students and nine staff members -- in one of the deadliest attacks the country has seen in its 66-year history, according to a Pakistani army spokesman. All seven attackers have also been killed.

The attack has been claimed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militant coalition, who called it a "response" to the Pakistan army's anti-militant operations in the North Waziristan tribal area, which began six months ago on June 15.

Hero: Aitzaz Hassan, aged around 14, died in hospital
after stopping the bomber, who blew himself up

A schoolboy has been hailed a hero after sacrificing his own life to save classmates from a Pakistan suicide bomber.

Aitzaz Hassan, aged around 14, died in hospital after stopping the bomber, who blew himself up, at the gates of his school in the northwestern district of Hangu on Monday.

His father Mujahid Ali Bangash, 55, said he felt not sadness but pride at his son's death.

'Aitzaz has made us proud by valiantly intercepting the bomber and saving the lives of hundreds of his fellow students,' he said.

'I am happy that my son has become a martyr by sacrificing his life for a noble cause.'

Bangash works in the UAE and was only able to reach Ibrahimzai village, which lies in an area of Hangu dominated by minority Shiite Muslims, the day after his son's funeral.

'Many people are coming to see me but if they try to express sympathy, I tell them to congratulate me instead on becoming the father of a martyr,' he said.

'I will be even more than happy if my second son also sacrifices his life for the country.'

Police official Shakirullah Bangash told AFP that Aitzaz intercepted the bomber some 150 metres (490 feet) away from the main gate of the school, which has around 1,000 students, most of them Shiite.

The schoolchildren were the target of the attack, he added.

News of Hassan's bravery also led to an outpouring of tributes on social media.

Female of Punjab Assembly crying over Peshawar school massacre ...........

Anyone watching CNN please get a clearer picture because these idiots know nothing. Children were NOT killed because they were going to school, they were killed because their fathers are in the Army and Talibans are retaliating against Zarb-e-Azb. And hospitals are NOT only taking in male patients because of discrimination. The attack was on the MALE section of the school. The injured ARE mostly males. They really need to stop giving a backward image of Pakistan.

What a sad day! Today this nations is burying its hope, its innocence, its future.
How can we bury our flowers while the Talifilth is still walking on this earth?
How many have we sent to hell in the last 24 hours?

A 1000 for one would be cheap price for our loss. @COA your tweets are not going to cool us, we understand ACTION we love counting. We want to count, we wan tot count the dead bodies of the coward scums. We want to see the same determination and resolve s we saw in Ghiaryr recovery operation. We will wait, but we want the full count 140 X 1000.
