MoST to Formulate Standards for Cars Manufactured in Pakistan

Me too! As you also said, why reinvent the wheel!!
However i would like the to study the policy and revise any points that need a revision based on our setup!

Standard are good, but please keep in mind that there are costs in complying with them that raise the price of the final product to be paid by the consumers. Is the Pakistan market ready to do that?

Obviously costs will be involved!! No doubt about that.

Perhaps we are being over charged already and with new players coming in, competition will put things a lot better.

Perhaps. Is the much ballyhooed New Auto Policy still in place, or is there a new name or even a new policy in place? As I have said before many times, unless the taxation framework is changed, the long term economic viability of new entrants will remain doubtful given the realities of the Pakistani domestic market.

Its in place and three plants (two of them in my city) are nearing completion after which we can see start of production. That and there are two more starting up! That would be five new entrants in the market.

Oh good, once the cars hit the market, there will be data to judge the success or failure in the PDM of these new entrants. It will be quite predictable who will try to take credit if the policy successful or blame others if not.

They should simply ask for crash tests and make them public
If they arent at the level better simply ask them to stop production ..if we are going to buy junk better ask local compabies to build junk rather than international companies

And where would the electrick city come from?

Electricity could be and should be generated in Pakistan. Gasoline can't.

And as far as what I've heard there are tons of power projects in CPEC which will be completed in 2019 or so.

Yes, we have heard a lot about that. May be there will be enough left over after meeting the existing power demands to add the transport sector demand to it too.

Do simple thing buy a 100 page Manual from European Union Guidelines for Auto Vehicle security and just use that standard
