+76The coming century is really going to be more India centered the reasons are, 1) India has most young population in the world and will be for a long period. 2) Young population of any country is a huge boost for GDP of a country as it is the work force, when other country population are getting older, India is getting younger. 3) As India is a fast developing country it has potential that will be only going to increasing with the development of the country this all due to young population coming up in the future 3) In India most of the college student mainly opt for Engg or Med courses this gona create a huge technical talents in the country in field of Aero space, Nuclear, Medical, Aviation, Nano tec, Bio tec, Naval Engg etc, this technical Boom is going to happen soon and that gonna transform India into a world power house of work forceand generat a lot of income for the country and GDP. 5) Indian space and miltary sector is going into transforming of privatation which gonna stop lot of young population going aboard for jobs, if you look at the index you can see a fast improving developments from 2000 onwards. You see that change in all sectors, development is happening in all sectors of the country from defense, Health, Social and ecnomic level, Its truly going to be a unstoppable super power of future for sure
+31India is a fast rising economy. India is the largest importer of defense equipments... now, total indeginition phase is going on in India. ie. Indigenous aircraft carrier ins vikrant ( making India join the elite club of countries ie us, uk, France and soviet who can make their own aircraft carrier), hal tejas mk 2 ( fifth gen multirole combat aircraft), agni 5 ICBM ( again making India join elite club of nation having icbm).. long awaited ins vikramaditya will be inducted to Indian navy on 16 nov 2013 making India the only country in Asia to have 2 aircraft carrier. India is also excelling in space technology. India became the first country in Asia to successfully launch a rocket to mars. in the near future we will see indigenous aircraft carrierins vikrant 2 (equivalent to Russian and British aircraft carrier), agni 6 icbm (range 10000+km) etc etc etc...
+2You do realise Spain, Turkey and Australia have made their own aircraft carriers

+4Even though its economic growth have started to shrink, it might become a economic superpower. However it would be hard for China to achieve military dominance in its territory since it share borders with US-Allied nations, India, Russia and some other nations that are no pushovers. China is also in lack of allies and there is few nations that tend to tighten its bonds to China.
China, India, Pakistan and Russia are the most possible future superpowers, especially China. China, India and Pakistan have very large populations and are developing quickly, and all have nuclear weapons. Turkey is also a possible superpower because of it's powerful economy and large population. Russia has a very powerful military as it is both high tech and large.
+1No comment.. I believe China or Russia will be the next world supper Power. Even does Russia was the supper Power doing the Soviet union but I believe if China or India don't claim it Russia will again.

+3The Soviet Union collapsed because of poor and weak leadership. Presidents like Yeltsin and Gorbachev prostituted and destroyed the reputation the USSR once had. But now under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, a hardcore patriot, Russian pride has been restored and its economy has stabilized. Western Europe trembles in fear at the thought of Russia, none of the European nations can take on Russia, even less with China as Russia's ally.
+4With a shaping Eurasian Union, increasingly effective use of resources and money gained compared to quantity of resources used as well as a massive and increasing economic and military growth this might be the next superpower.
+1For more than 40 years, Soviet Union had been a superpower, which had been the greatest US enemy. Russia composed most of USSR's land area, population, technologies, military and everything. Another, with high military power second only to the US, there is almost no way for US to influence Russia largely.
+2[Newest]Vladimir Putin is by far the most patriotic leader a country can have.

+15Germany has one of the most vibrant economies within Europe, and with China's struggles parallel to those of India (pollution, overpopulation, etc. ) and Japan basically relies on China for its imports so that it can produce computers and other electronic devices. If China collapses, Japan goes with them.
+4Germany has one of the most powerful economies in the world and is the only reason the EU stays afloat. Germany may not currently have nuclear power but could easily build them. Germany's military has the possibility of becoming the strongest in Europe. China is the current leading manufacturer in the world followed by America then Germany.
+2Germany is very strong and practically owns the European Union. Also, they are very innovative and hard working, and most of all, they believe in themselves. Also, even with Russia and China, China will soon fall because the communist system does not work. Also, Russia has lots of civil unrest and Putin is trying to turn it into a Totalitarian State. Germanys one obstacle is the US
[Newest]Considering they have accomplished the impossible multiple times threw tragic collapses after 2 great wars and if they get decent strategic military commanders and a powerful military again they could have a shot and the fact that they basically set the standards for everything in the world.

+3Who ever put this on the list is an idiot. The USA is currently the worlds only superpower so it shouldn't be on this list.
-1As long as Obama gets out of office and someone like reagan gets in we can stay a superpower
-3According to me USA has a very strong education system but it is not a superpower. as 30 percentage of usa are Indians only. USSR is greater than USA every time. But still it is a superpower. good luck to all the citizen of USA. and before that I tell you that I m an Indian

6Britain
The British are allies with the US, so defense is no issue. All Britain really has to do is rebuild their navy, and they will rule again. All will fear the British, what they have done in the past, they will do again. The British are a Global Power now, and will rise. They just need to get out of being under both the European and American thumb.
-1Great Britain WILL become a world super power once again. However, there are a few hurdles in the way of our success. Once we leave the EU, close our borders to over increasing immigration, breath life back into our national pride and support, focus our attention on the commonwealth and our allies and vote in a party (such as UKIP) that has true faith in the British public, values and way of life. Our time will come again, we shall grow stronger than ever before. If we believe in each other, our heritage and our nation we can succeed! Watch out, the Britain is coming back onto the world stage once more!
+1Britain needs to leave the EU and control our own finances without Brussels interference. I feel the EU wants to hold us (yes I am British) back. We have London the world Capital City. Not to mentions the safest country in the world to live in. We are king of the Commonwealth, a major Nato Member on the world security council. We have lead the world again... just need a second industrial revolution, some sort of technological breakthrough that no one else can replicated with economic, military and space travel implications like a force field.
-1[Newest]We need more colonies in order to have a chance to of becoming a superpower again. When that happens though, the glory days of the British Empire will return.

+9Status Quo changes so significantly and unexpectedly and in this game Turkish nation has a lot to offer on her bid to climb on the ladder of world power. After all do an objective historical analysis of Turks not only Ottoman Turks but 16 Turkish Empires of the history. Turks never been colonized unlike Indians and Chinese and they have genuine proudness of their ethnicity where colonized and enslaved nations can not truly grasp as it is nearly impossible for them to feel that. Turks have all the ingredients of becoming a super ruling nation again as they did in the past. Look at all the Muslim nations they are all literally in complete shambles and Turks although are Muslim do not even remotely resemble the rest of the Muslim nations. +1As we head into the future, countries, especially India, China and USA are hungry for energy and resources. So countries with an abundance of natural resources and energy are those with the most potential to become a superpower, like Canada. Canada does not only have the energy, like petroleum and uranium, but also has food and fresh water. Canada has the largest reserve of fresh water in the world and great agricultural soil. Food and drinkable water are essential for life, but are not generally in abundance.
Global warming is noticeably having a large effect on our planet, but it might have the ability to shape up Canada into a world power. As global warming melts the north, there will be a large abundance of fresh water, farmland and...See More
You do realize that the USA is the worlds leading producer of natural gas right? It is also expected to become the worlds largest producer of crude oil by 2016. Your argument about the USA not having enough natural resources is invalid.
+5Canada's has the natural resources and potential to be an economic superpower. Canada also process tons of the worlds next gold, fresh water. The United States could end up paying Canada billions for this in the future. If Canada puts a hold on the northwest passage they'll be rich using it as an international trade route. Also If anything were to go wrong, Canada has one of the best situations in the world if not the best. This includes; Self sustaining food (more hen enough), and and loads of material (including gas, lumber, pot ash, uranium, the list goes on). And SPACE. As global warming kicks in more of Canada's arctic will melt turning into usable farm land making Canada even more of a recourse giant. All Canada needs is to do is make better decisions and get more people by possibly increasing the immigration limits. Long way to go...See More

+2We are forgetting the Housing bloom in Pakistan where ten new cities have been created out of nothing by only one group, the Behria town. The housing market alone has generated a trillion dollars economy, likely o multiply five times by 2020. Pakistan also sits on one of the largest Gold reserves (estimated two trillion dollars), the China Pak economic corridor will link Kashgar with Gwader port in Pakistan at the cost of 35 billion dollars, ushering in huge trade and commerce. Pakistan could move up economic ladder at a surprisingly fast pace linking Central Asia with warm waters. Pakistan is also becoming an energy conduit from Gulf and Central Asia to energy hungry India and China, th prospects are unimaginable.
Young generation is always considered the asset of a country and it plays a primary role in the development of that country. In Pakistan, a country where more than fifty percent population is comprised on people who are between 16 to 30 years of age.
-2Pakistan has baffled many because its economy and progress continue to grow despite all odds. Pakistan has considerable resiliance despite its geographically hostile environment. From a country that started off with only 1 industrial complex and a literacy rate of 6 % at the time of independence one often forgets where this nation started from and the strides it has made. The fact that the people of the country demand more is testament that they have higher aspirations and not content with just settling. Despite the global recession of the early 2000 and instability its economy continues to grow. The country is bestowed with many resources from natural gas/oil, fisheries, precious minerals, agricultural, skilled/semi-skilled workforce, IT, Textile, electronics, military hardware and a large and growing young workforce. Many if not most ofthese resources have barely been tapped into. Its mighty Indus River which courses down the heart of the country makes it the agricultural power house. Pakistani goods and comodities are unrivalled in quality and skill. Its growing middle class of >40 million people have an ever increasing appetite. With the unanimous return to democracy the country has changed course from one where military dictors often took over to one where institution building has begun to take root and are gradually showing signs of maturity. The growing shortage of electricity and the government inability to keep up with demands while slowing economic growth is conversely a positive sign that the country is infact growing. The country continues to offer a business friendly environment and compared to its neighboors (Afghanistan, Indian etc.. ) it has considerably less corruption especially when it comes to starting up new businesses and getting approvals for large to medium scale projects. Wealth distribution is some of the most well balanced in the region especially when compared to the surrounding region. The vast Pakistani diaspora are investing in the country in droves with foreign remittance increasing steadily and bringing foreign brands into the country. From a military standpoint the country boasts the 6th largest armed forces in the world, is a standing nuclear power and geostragically located at the cross-roads of the Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia.
