Now $100,000 will only get you a 2 bed room apartment (on rent) in North California, where most of the IT jobs are. Similarly, H1-B Nurses working in expensive medical district (in downtown New
York or Houston) won’t be able to afford a decent house on their supposedly high pay due to cost of living.
Where as Most Pakistani immigrants arrived on a family immigration visa. Not hired, skill based or for job. They are living like a normal American family. Pakistani with $75’000 is living inside a two story house often start from a scratch, they are free to move around, quit job to obtain an advance degree. While H1-B Indian is restricted to location and job condition. Goras aren’t stupid, if they can hire local graduate (with 10 years of experience) to live off of $100’000 in North Cal, they wouldn’t be looking towards Cheap H1-B.
Another factor, many Pakistan women chose not to work (quality of life) after marriage, specially if they are not in professional field like doctors or running their own business. So $75,000 is most often is 1 person pay. Where $100’000 for Indian usually means husband and wife ( whatever ratio often 70/30 or 80/20, since only one is professional) .
Now same old grocery store excuse. Buddy, Business is business. Pakistan grocery store sell,
Indian, Pakistani, Mediterranean, Halal food items and advertise as such, and rightly so. Many Indian restaurant claim to be Halal for business when they are not.
