Geneticists from the University of Leicester have discovered that most European men descend from just a handful of Bronze Age forefathers, due to a 'population explosion' several thousand years ago.
The project, which was funded by the Wellcome Trust, was led by Professor Mark Jobling from the University of Leicester's Department of Genetics and the study is published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications.

The research team determined the DNA sequences of a large part of the Y chromosome, passed exclusively from fathers to sons, in 334 men from 17 European and Middle Eastern populations.

Me want cave! Now!!!!

There was a theory that all blue eyed people are descendants of one genetic mutation, dont know how true though.

Also its being said that 1 in 200 men in the world (0,5% of total world population) are direct descendants of Genghis Khan because of the incredible amount of women he raped after conquering a place. :o:

So there might be a little Ghenghis in some of you guys.... wait.... that sounds weird.

334 men from 17 European and Middle Eastern populations.- too small a sample to proclaim MOST EUROPEAN men .....they for sure can say EUROPEAN MEN....but not sure about MOST...I mean what if they were not purely European and actually were migrants? Will read the article at work where I can get the complete methodology section :)

DNA was extracted from various sources including lymphoblastoid cell lines, peripheral blood and saliva. Samples (340) were included in the design from 17 populations (20 males each) across Europe and the Near East. Samples from Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Germany (Bavaria), Spanish Basque country, central Spain, Netherlands (Frisia), Denmark, Norway, Finland (Saami), England (Herefordshire and Worcestershire), Orkney, Ireland and Turkey were collected...

Wow....17 populations make most of Europe AND near East? :o:

Out of the 340 MALE samples:

After the initial analyses, one English and one Spanish individual were identified as females

Sorry found this significantly funny

As for you and your so called education....i hope you find the kitchen comfortable!!!! Lots of DNA in there for you to inspect and manipulate into delicious meals!

Now that is a very ignorant reply

Because MY belief has nothing to do with DNA tests ...However your need to believe of whatever descendant you are is purely belief....and less on science....I never denied that YOU COULD BE ....but I questioned the power of the test if that is wrong then whole fundamentals of science where you question is wrong....Go be a caveman

All I said which as usual you aimed at reading in between in search for something that is not there:

Is FROM the article that the paper was boasting about - from its methodology section... Go browse yourself before burying yourself in embarrassment!

And so is this part.../

How the **** does that last part even happen haha
Honestly speaking I had a number of scenarios - sex change operation, those people who claim they feel male when indeed they are female (DNA dont lie), data error (wrongly classified), participant failed to read MALE ONLY

Pale skinned people have inferior genes. Their genetics is a dead end. They are a dying breed. In 50 - 100 years there will be no pale skinned and blue / green eyed people left in the world.

Thanks to western made globalisation, they erasing their own kin. AHAHA
