WASHINGTON: Agents with Israel’s Mossad agency posed as American CIA agents in operations to recruit members of the militant group Jundallah, a report in Foreign Policy magazine said Friday.
Using American dollars and US passports, the agents passed themselves off as members of the Central Intelligence Agency in the operations, notably in London, according to memos from 2007 and 2008, said the report.

Jundallah (Soldiers of God) says it is fighting for the interests of the southeastern province’s large ethnic Baloch community, whose members mainly follow the Sunni branch.

The Baloch straddle the border with neighboring Pakistan and Afghanistan and Jundallah militants have taken advantage of the unrest in the region to find safe haven in the border region.
I
n July it claimed responsibility for attacking the Grand Mosque in the provincial capital Zahedan, reportedly targeting members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards Corps, killing 28 people.
“It’s amazing what the Israelis thought they could get away with,” a US intelligence officer told Foreign Policy.

“Their recruitment activities were nearly in the open. They apparently didn’t give a damn what we thought,” said the official.

The memos were written during the last years of then-president George W Bush’s administration – the former US leader Bush “went absolutely ballistic” when briefed on the memos, said the magazine.

“The report sparked White House concerns that Israel’s program was putting Americans at risk,” an officer told the magazine.

“There’s no question that the US has cooperated with Israel in intelligence-gathering operations against the Iranians, but this was different. No matter what anyone thinks, we’re not in the business of assassinating Iranian officials or killing Iranian civilians,” said the official.

The Mossad activities could further jeopardize the already tense relationship of the United States with Pakistan, which is an official ally in the fight against al Qaeda, which had been pressed to take action against Jundallah, said Foreign Policy.

Tensions in the US-Iran relationship have also spiked, most recently following the assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist. Foreign Policy said there was no evidence of a link between the scientist’s killing and Jundallah.

if true, that so humiliating scandal....

but yeah, the US-Israel intelligence ops need an overhaul....

and america supports israel?? even when they assassinated the guy in dubai.. they used american, english and australian forged passports to do this.... friends and allies do not do this.. israel is trying to start war by making it look like other countries are behind it all.. israel are vile and pathetic.. no wonder countries want them destroyed

Israeli game plan? Simple! Undertake a false flag operation by propping up Jundallah to vitiate relations between Iran and Pakistan which was coming under intense pressure from Iran to crack down on Jundallah.

In other words, the Israeli plan is to use the Jundallah from Pakistan to target Iranian assets so that the Israelis aren't suspected or blamed for any actions undertaken by them and also fuel Tehran's suspicions that Jundallah was being protected by Pakistan's intelligence services.

This way, the Israelis can have their cake and eat it too! :smokin:

What are the odds of this news coming out on Jan 13, Friday, right after the Israelis kill an Iranian scientist on Jan 11? Its obvious that there is a rift between White House and Israelis over how to handle Iran. Israelis want war, plain and simple. Netanyahu idolizes Winston Churchill so he is all for a military option. Israel recently closed down its nuclear reactor at Dimona and now U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Martin Dempsey, is heading to Israel. One way or another, something big is underway.

According to comments in Haaretz:
"Israel is supposed to be working with us, not against us," Foreign Policy quoted an intelligence officer as saying. "If they want to shed blood, it would help a lot if it was their blood and not ours. You know, they're supposed to be a strategic asset. Well, guess what? There are a lot of people now, important people, who just don't think that's true."

Its no secret that pro-Israeli foreign policy was responsible for two wars and 9/11 itself, and all those who have died are Americans or foreigners. Now someone in White House is trying to avoid a new war and Israelis are being put in their place. Could it be that United States is waking up from its blind support of Israel?

“Israel, if you want to be welcome in U.S., don’t pull this kind of crap.”

Foreign Policy journalist Mark Perry talks to +972 about his revelation of Mossad agents pretending to be CIA men while trying to recruit Iranian terrorists, explains why Israel and the U.S. are unlikely to fall out over the affair, and offers Israel a free tip.

A “senior Israeli official” called your report “complete nonsense,” and claimed that “had it been true, Meir Dagan would not be able to set foot in Washington.” Haaretz writer Amir Oren also described you as a “declared supporter of the Arab cause.” Your response?

I would not expect the Israeli government to confirm my report — it’s certainly not in their interest to do so. I would have been surprised if they had said “yes, this is absolutely true.” The story is as accurate as I could make it, and as well sourced as I could make it. It’s as true as the rising sun. Then too, people should realize that this is not the first false flag operation that Israel has conducted, as a published report by a colleague made clear in 2010.
My understanding is that a journalist in Israel has supposed that I wrote and published the story because I am “a known supporter of the Arab cause.” That’s an insulting slur — and one that I would not make against reporters here in Washington who regularly report on Israel. I am a supporter of the American cause. And what exactly is the Arab “cause?” To be friends with the US? To build stable and democratic societies? To educate their children and be at peace with their neighbors. If that is the “cause” then yes, I am for it.

Quite a few readers have questioned the coincidence of the story running just days after yet another assassination of an Iranian scientist. Is it a coincidence? How long have you been working on the story?

I know there is a great deal of skepticism about the timing of the story. And I know too that people will simply not believe it is a coincidence. In fact, it is. I thought two weeks ago that, after eighteen months of work, the story was in jeopardy of being released by another publication. And in truth, I did not decide to actually publish the story until the Friday before its appearance. And even then, at the last minute, I put the story on hold — to give a number of contacts of mine a chance to weigh in, and to give the U.S. and Israeli governments a chance to respond officially — or off the record. And I made it clear to officials here that I was willing to withdraw the story if there was reason to doubt its accuracy for any reason, or if in their estimation, it would harm my country. I received no response. The story appeared yesterday because that is when I, and Foreign Policy, felt comfortable with every one of its details.

The same Haaretz report speculated the revelation could endanger Israel-US ties in the same way the Pollard affair did, and that this is why the Mossad is as a policy opposed to “adventurous endangerment of its relationship to the American community.” Is this likely?

I am an historian — that is really my first career. I have studied and written extensively about the politics of the American and British high command in World War Two (Partners In Command is my book on George Marshall and Dwight Eisenhower). During that alliance, key senior officers of both the U.S. and Great Britain held high level conferences to determine military strategy. During those conferences there was shouting, deep disagreement — in one case, nearly a fistfight. Allies disagree. Why wouldn’t the same be true now, between Israel and the U.S? No alliance is perfect, no country walks in lock step with another, and it would be naive to suppose it. There are problems between the U.S. and Israel, but that isn’t new. Nor should believe that the strategic relationship and deep friendship we have with Israel will change. My sense is that, despite the problems, there is a commitment on the part of the administration to make certain that, as with all alliances, a common purpose outweighs all disagreements. Frankly, if the Pollard incident didn’t end the U.S.-Israel relationship, then this won’t. My personal view is, and my advice to Israel, is — if you want to be welcome in America, don’t try to pull this kind of crap.

You say there is no evidence linking Jundallah to the assassination campaign. Is there any indication Israel is similarly using some other group, like the MEK? Was there any indication of what purpose the Jundallah recruits were used for?

My article was focused on a single story — that Mossad officers attempted to recruit Jundallah operatives under the guise of the American intelligence services. I stayed strictly focused on that. I have no idea who is responsible for the murder of Iranian scientists, I have no idea whether, at present, Israel is using Jundallah or MEK operatives to conduct these operations. Iran has plenty of enemies, and it could be any number of organizations — or perhaps the killings are simply an internal matter. In one way, I suppose, I don’t care, so long as my country is not responsible. Because if we are, then we are a state sponsor of terrorism, and the “war on terrorism” is a lie. I don’t think it is. I think the U.S. government, my country, has lots of problems. But joining with terrorist groups is not one of them.

i have absolutely no doubt in my mind 9/11 was a israeli operation.. even the accent of the hijackers was a hebrew accent, it was not arab accent... israel attacked the USS Liberty... assassinates peoples and makes it look like usa , australia and england etc are involved...

these people have no respect, they do not care about any other country or people.. they only care for themselves

i think the world would be a more peaceful place if israel was not a country.. in fact it was never a country before 1946... there is a good reason why other countries and cultures hated israel.. even germany etc... they only cause problems... a person once saidhundreds of years ago, the worst thing that could happen, is if the jews ever made a country of their own!... this is proven to be true.... they can blame the holocaust etc and make it so they think they are owed the world, and anyone who says anything against jews is anti-semetic etc.. but the fact is, no one owes them anything at all... and in the holocaust.. it was my mostly my fellow polaks(polish) that were killed and gassed etc..more polish died then jews... yet do u hear poland whinging? getting much compensation ?? no they get nothing...

israel is the biggest blight on this world.. and i condemn the fact they drag my country (australia) and our allies into bs stuff and try to make it look like where to blame... we, america, england etc.. should all turn out backs on israel.. in fact.. i think regime change is in order.. and i think if usa, australia, england etc was wanting that.. there is no one country who would deny that they deserve it
