AMRITSAR: More than 50 Hindu families were migrating to India every month due to failure of Pakistan government in finding a tangible solution to the prevailing acute discontentment among them , said President of Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) , a representative forum of Hindu community in Pakistan, Ramesh Vankwani while talking to TOI over phone from Karachi on Tuesday.

He said Hindu population especially those who living in Larkana and Sakkhar divisions of Sindh province were scared of forced conversions, kidnapping for ransom and protection money and the Hindu representatives in government had failed to address their issues.

He said PHC had sent their representatives from where majority of Hindus were migrating to India to instill a sense of security among them but they had a limited role to play in absence of government support.

"We have begun a movement on our own but need government support and help of Hindu representatives in government who could assertively take up the issue in Parliament" he said.

In past two week's time more than 550 Hindu's have arrived India from Pakistan from Attari land border with majority of them informing media about prevailing religious discrimination, lawlessness, feudalism, fundamentalism , crime against Hindus.

A few of them has even openly announced to stay back in India. Vankwani said in wake of some of the recent incidents of atrocities on Hindu's even the poor Hindu families had started migrating to India .

"Migrating to India via Kokharpar-Munabao route by train hardly costs Rs 500 which the poor families can also afford and prefer to settle in India than living here under the shadow of fear" he said.

Refusing to identify the persons who were indulged in kidnapping of Hindu's and the forced conversation of Hindu girls, Vankwani said "Yeh bhukhae log hai , jo paisae kae liyae kuch bhee karate hain" (These are hungry people who would do anything for money).

Meanwhile, Pakistani parliament member from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Dr. Haresh Chopra said the minority parliamentarians were worried over the reports of migration of Hindu's from Pakistan.

"The migration is not much as being projected by media which has brought disgrace to Pakistan" he said.

Chopra said he would take up the issue during parliament session and would seek a debate on it so as to prevent exodus of Hindus from Pakistan.

He said he had also taken up the issue with Dr. Paul Bhatti, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Harmony and he had assured look into the issues faced by Hindu's and check their migration to India. He said Hindu's were living in Pakistan for past hundreds of years and they should not think of migrating to India with just one or two odd incidents.

Such news should not be made public. It endangers the rest of the Hindus in Pakistan.

On a side note the Indian Govt must negotiate with GoP for a one time transfer of all the Hindus remaining there and provide them citizenship in India so that they can spend atleast the rest of their life with honor, dignity and safety.

.
If it is allowable subject which can be discussed in world forum as well as UN why cannot it be putforward and seek world opinion for justice and freedom of belief.

.
I say bring them back & allow them to settle in those areas where we have lesser population. We can develop planned areas so-that it will not press hard on natural resources & nature. What is the opinion of others on this idea?

Not only this, it will endanger the life of Muslims in India. where they already live under radar and economic oppression.

After 30 to 40 years migration will be common from Afghanistan to India. Visa and trade will be on border. In next five years Visa restriction will partially disappear.

I am a hindu but i don't think India is a "Dharamshala" for every person in other countries which are feeling insecure, like Rohingyas in Myanmar, Hindus in Pak or any other people, voicing concern & look after there good is a different matter which MEA & GOI should raise on international platforms but by giving refuge to every threatened being on this planet we are just creating a demographic catastrophe for ourselves & creating the breeding grounds for yet another Assam Massacre.

Comparing HIndus in Pak with Rohingyas in Burma ?

For starters the Rohingyas were not covered under the Partition while the HIndus in Pak were.

And why would HIndus from Pak who come here as political refugees create an Assam like situation ? Mixing up things, are we ?

Maybe, just maybe we should settle all this Hindus in Kashmir. What do you guys think?

no mate, u have totally misunderstood my post, i m not comparing anyone to another, i m just saying that we should not offer refuge to anyone who thinks or claims to be threatened in his own land. This will create tensions in India itself as we already have huge population feeding on limited resources now if outside people comes here & again makes a claim on those resources what will happen than?? no one sees if the claimant is a Hindu or of any other religion as is always said hunger comes first than anything else, this can create a situation where we can see infighting between the local population & the migrants (what happened in Assam).

If that is practical, then all those Indian Jihadis who attempts to change our national character by force should be sent to Pakistan. Let them live in peace there.
