Chiều 14/5, chuẩn Đô đốc Pascal Ausseur, Vụ phó phụ trách khu vực châu Á - Thái Bình Dương, Vụ phát triển quốc tế, Tổng cục trang bị vũ khí Pháp đã có buổi gặp gỡ báo chí nhằm thông báo kết quả cuộc hội thảo doanh nghiệp Việt - Pháp về an ninh biển diễn ra ngày 13/5 tại Hà Nội.
Ông Pascal Ausseur đã cho biết quan điểm về tình hình căng thẳng hiện nay trên biển Đông, về việc Trung Quốc hạ đặt trái phép giàn khoan Hải Dương - 981 trong vùng đặc quyền kinh tế của Việt Nam, đồng thời huy động một lực lượng lớn tàu hộ tống các loại, bao gồm cả tàu quân sự, có máy bay yểm trợ, liên tục tấn công các tàu Cảnh sát biển và tàu Kiểm ngư của Việt Nam tại khu vực này.

Ông Pascal Ausseu nói: “Như các bạn đã biết, Liên minh châu Âu đã ra một thông cáo về vấn đề này và Pháp đương nhiên cũng có tiếng nói trong thông cáo đó. Thông cáo này nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của luật pháp quốc tế, trong đó có Công ước Luật biển 1982. Thông cáo cũng nhấn mạnh cần giải quyết hòa bình tranh chấp, Pháp cũng như tất cả các thành viên của Liên minh châu Âu rất lo ngại về những căng thẳng hiện nay trên biển Đông. Những căng thẳng này cần nhanh chóng chấm dứt bằng các biện pháp hòa bình và thương lượng”.

Theo Chuẩn đô đốc Pháp, châu Á là một khu vực đóng vai trò ngày càng quan trọng về kinh tế cũng như an ninh của thế giới, vì thế sự ổn định của khu vực này rất quan trọng với thế giới trong đó có Pháp. Là quốc gia có lực lượng hải quân lớn thứ hai thế giới, Pháp sẵn sàng hỗ trợ Việt Nam về an ninh biển.

Chuẩn đô đốc Pascal Ausseur nhấn mạnh: “Nước Pháp có nhiều kinh nghiệm và thế mạnh trong việc sản xuất các thiết bị quốc phòng cho phép chúng tôi bảo vệ an toàn lãnh thổ trên mặt đất và trên biển. Chúng tôi luôn sẵn sàng chia sẻ với các đối tác Việt Nam, cũng như luôn sẵn sàng hợp tác và chuyển giao công nghệ cho các lực lượng chức năng của Việt Nam. Và có thể trong tương lai, lực lượng này của Việt Nam sẽ được trang bị tối tân hơn.

Chuẩn đô đốc Pascal Ausseur cũng cho biết, các doanh nghiệp Pháp trong lĩnh vực quốc phòng sẽ hợp tác với Việt Nam theo tinh thần đối tác lâu dài chứ không phải theo tinh thần nhà cung cấp.
