Around a week back, I booked tickets for this film called 'Moor' out of the blue. My flight was on the 15th August and I decided to spend my last evening in Karachi watching a film. Now all I can say it was the best decision I've ever made. The movie, directed by 'Jami' revolves around a Baloch family and their struggle and internal matters and financial rift caused by closing down of the railway station which the father used to be station master of. Every second of the movie had story written into it, and the execution was flawless. The scenic beauty of Balochistan's tribal areas was beautifully encaptured in the direction, as well as the hustle and bustle of Karachi and it's people. The musical score, done by the one and only strings also suited the movie extremely well, and most of all there were no unnecessary item numbers in the movie. The plot starts rather quickly and gives you the general picture of the entire movie, and with each minute passing you come to realize what the first 5-10 minutes were all about, and you're going to love it. The dialogue and the character's are amazing as well, with bits and pieces of Balochi and sometimes English going around the mainly Urdu (in it's Baloch accent) film. Overall I'll give the film a solid 9/10, a real must watch.
I'd like to add the fact that before Moor, I saw 2 other Lollywood releases Karachi se Lahore and Wrong Number as well, and those were mediocre rom-coms at best, which I'd rate like 6.5/10, but Moor, oh man this movie was just so amazing. I'd recommend anyone who has free time on their hands to go an watch this film.

Jami is an ace director! Any news about release in the UK?

I had planned for Moor and Shah but because no tickets available i postponed my program on next week end.

True. Some very good movie critics have rated this movie very highly. Those people who don't watch movie for a pathetic item number. This movie is surely in my list too.

@jamahir

You should try to watch in case it is released in India.

thanks, i will.

i also hope that yalghaar is released here... i don't think the indian censor board will find it "anti-india".

Also include Shah. It is said to be kind of movie that is supposed to get standing ovation in every show.

"shah" is about a boxer and boxing so i will give it a miss... i find boxing a barbaric activity... i don't see what fun is to see people beating each other up.

i have never seen the "rocky" series too.

Yup but is no another boxing movie. It is about struggle of a man from the streets of Karachi to Olympic medal with no support from the state or sports association.

still, i will have to see boxing in the film yes?? :)

i don't know how to measure the barbaric-ness of his sport of choice against his struggle.

This film has great scenery and cinematography . story could have been better

During my childhood I had been to Bostan on several occasions, boy that brings memories. While on your way to Chaman on train, just before the long train tunnel.
From the trailers, I can tell the cinematography is breath taking.

Just in case if some one was wondering for the song in first trailer, its by a Kenyan artist Ayub Ogada titled Kothbiro

By the way I also heard this on track of "The constant Gardener" OST.
