I think they should ban internet, you never know which site is offensive. Then ban printing press, anyone can print offensive material. Next comes banning media, tapes, photo etc.

There is no way you can stop others from posting things you do not like, best way is to learn to live with them, or opt for stone age.

Lahore High court is subservient to the Supreme Court in Islamabad. Any decision taken by LHC can be challenged at the SC. Let us see what the constitution has to say about the jurisdiction of the SC :

Article 188 - power to review its own judgements and orders
Article 189 - Supreme Court's decisions binding on all other Pakistani Courts.
Article 190 - all executive and judicial authorities in Pakistan are bound to aid the Supreme Court.

We do not have to pay much attention to LHC. It is toothless when it comes to federal enforcement of any law. However, it is a worrying sign that we are hearing so many news on the growth of fundamentalism surrounding Lahore these days.

I have figured out why these websites might be blocked

* Google (Safe Search mode set to Strict, no nudity viewable, difficult to find option that allows you to see anything worthwhile)
* Yahoo (Same as Google, LHC cannot view any nudity! Does not know how to turn off adult search filter)
* Bing (Same as other search engines)
* YouTube (Disgustingly no nudity allowed, not even topless. Wasted so much time)
* Hotmail (No nudity here, useless. Why was the word Hot used.)
* MSN (Its BDSM, not MSN, Banned)
* Amazon (Cannot buy adult products, do not deliver to Pakistan, no nudity, another useless site).

So you see my fellow countrymen, no nudity means banned, simples.

The court is merely looking into the petition filed . It does nt mean it is going to ban & it wont. Any private citizen can move the court for adjudication. The way the news item is presented is mis-leading. The enforcement, if any would be regarding certain content. **** should be banned, regardless.
You cannot guarantee that minors cant access it so that is good atleast.

Why not ban books too? All books. Some of them contain blashpemy. Also, ban words. They can be used to convey blasphemy. How about letters of the alphabet. They can be combined to create blasphemy. Can someone just ban Lahore High Court? Every time they issue a ruling like this they encourage use of the word "blasphemy".

Books have also been banned. Amazon provide books online so your point has been already taken.

We all know there will not be any such ban. There was a reason behind Youtube and Facebook's ban before. Now there is not any such reason. The petition will be rejected in the first place. Just wait for court's hearing and i am sure nothing is going to happen
