'Mohammed Sahab (PBUH) a great yogi, I am a true Muslim with Imaan': Sakshi Maharaj | Siasat
New Delhi, June 15:
BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj has stirred a fresh and shocking controversy by saying he is a true Muslim and Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is the biggest practitioner of yoga.
Maharaj said, "In Islam, the biggest name is that of Mohammed (PBUH) and I think Mohammed Saab (PBUH) is a great yogi. I think that a Muslim is one with 'Imaan', thus a Mussalman. I am a true Muslim."
There was a rift on performing Surya Namaskar on June 21 event. Maharaj said, "Without the Sun, you and I both would be blind, the whole world would be blind. Those who call the Sun communal, stop taking its light?"
The Muslim Law Board had decided to move the Supreme Court and launch a nationwide campaign against the order that wanted students to perform yoga and Surya Namaskar on June 21.
Earlier, Maharaj dared Uttar Pradesh Minister Mohd Azam Khan to say 'Jai Shri Ram'.
"Azam is one person, who never speaks truth. He is advising Yogi Adityanath to offer namaz," the BJP MP, who was here to attend a private function said.
He was only misleading Muslims, Maharaj alleged.
"We people belong to Indian culture, where there is no difference between Allah, Bhagwan or God. We can say Allah-o-Akbar, if Azam has courage then he should say Jai Shri Ram," he had said.
Reacting to BJP MP Yogi Adityanath's comments that those opposing 'Surya namaskar' should "drown in the sea", Azam had said that the BJP leader should "offer namaz to set his mind on the right track".
