I don't think so.. there are alot of Muslims here already, and Mohammed is a popular name among Muslims, the average number of children for a Muslim family in Britain is a little higher then other races.

See there are 10 Muslim kids with the name of Muhammad either first or second name in different spellings Muhammad or Muhammed etc. and there are 15 kids (non Muslims) Oliver are 8 and Jack 7 now the table will look like this


Muhammad = 10

Oliver = 8

Jack = 7


You see Muhammad is top in the list with 10 but who is most populous it is non Muslims Oliver 8 and Jack 7 = 15 this is the whole magic there is no question of Muslims population in Britain neither they have outnumbered non Muslims there, Londoners are shocked and some say it is a miracle it is just a statistical illusion

But thats not what you said in the last post. You said Mohammed is getting popular even in non-muslims. Didn't that mean non-muslims are naming their child 'Mohammad' ?

No other religion promotes specific names for their children as far as I know..... Keeping Muhammad name is highly recommended in Islam as per one of the Hadees of Prophet Muhammad S.AW.W - on the day of Judgement Allah will ask Muhammad to rise from his grave and whoever was named as "Muhammad" will be risen and he shall ask them to enter the paradise

So keeping this name is considered as "Holy" or "sacred" thus Muslims prefer to use this name as a first or last name ..... some people also say this name brings "barakat" in their lives as this name is very dear to Allah

Sikh's also choose Singh along with their names but overall Muslim population surpasses them so Muhammad has higher/more popularity

It is not a miracle - but a strong trend of Muslim community for choosing this Muhammad name either before or after their children's name - which is not a case for other religions as they randomly choose anything without bothering much

Exactly it makes the sense... we Muslims are united on one name 'Muhammad' so we are on the top and non Muslims are scattered in different names despite their majority so they are below the top

One of my friend has 32 brothers and sisters and he is basically from Somalia............ and the most interesting part is.......... Everybody is well educated

(I don't think there is any of his brother or sister that I know is not well educated so......)

This is getting off-topic but I'd like to have one say.

For every one exception I can bring you 100 cases where large families turned out bad overall. I have seen people in Pakistan with large numbers of kids having great difficulty in providing a good life for their children. Forget about helping with homework or support, these kids don't go to school in the first place. These people get locked into a cycle of poverty, unable to break free without the necessary tools of modern life. As families get large the bonds get weaker as one is unable to relate to so many others in a deep and meaningful way. Unless you are uber rich, I would recommend against having more than 2-3 children.

In the past, due to high child mortality rates, having large numbers of children ensured the safety of the lineage and ensured more hands were available to till the farmlands. In the present era, this is no longer required as most children thrive into adulthood with proper healthcare. Most of the farm jobs are mechanized and economy thrives on knowledge and innovation instead. The increase in the overall population is another subject worthy of discussion as Pakistan is suffering from it badly.

There is a thread in economy section about the population of Pakistan (created almost 2 months ago may be) where I strongly opposed the ever growing population of our country

So don't take it like I am supporting having childrens in excess is OK.......... I never said that - All I said is........ proper care and guardian is more important than counting the number of childrens

you cant have it both ways brother, if you have more kids, there is no way you will be able to give them proper upbringing, after all you are human being, you cant do everything.

Instead of flooding non islamic nations with Muslim kids to increase the "Islamic population", I suggest you develop your own nations and become a global power in knowledge, science and technology. The people of the developed nations raise fewer but quality children who go on to achieve much bigger things in life. People should allow themselves to live normal lives, enjoy yourselves and let others in the society enjoy their lives. The reason why "Mohammed" is the most popular name is because it's the name of Islam's prophet, and almost every devoted Muslim would like to name his male child Mohammed. This is not the case with other religions. I have never met a Christian named Jesus..or a Buddhist named Buddha. Mohammed is arguably the most common name (world wide) since Islam.

The population of india is going exceed chinas in 25+ years. I think it will be better if you turn to your countrymen and give them the birth control advice.

that is your thoughts mate, but reality is something else. look at the population of muslims and also the jews!! they have quality and we have quantity. more people means more mouth to feed, more responsiblity etc.
