Moed Yusuf: In Foreign Policy, Pak is Punching Way Beyond It's Weight!!!

Incorrect, : La et' c'est moi, back when sovereigns were the state.

Historical practices of the past do not translate directly to the present era. Is MBS the State as a Sovereign, for example?

It is important to keep personal and geopolitical domains separate, specially in the 21st century.

Yes the Saudis Royal family are the state, the assassination of the journo in Istanbul damaged the Saudi state, any normal country would have at very least removed him from power, if not jail.

The very fact that this did not happen and the Saudi state was so behind him, and the US had to swallow it.

Well, the Saudi Royals are more useful puppets than State, but that is a discussion for another thread.

In context here, Pakistan foreign policy has also benefitted from their largesse in many useful ways. Another punch above its weight, perhaps?

We have never compromised on perceived core national interests, ie nuclear program and Afghanistan.

Louis XIV was a patriotic man who did what he thought was best for France and made it the premier power on the continent.

Thank you, at least you got the reference of the Sun King.

I remember listening to Dr Moeed Pirzada, talking about how it's relatively easy to talk and put your point across to Indians then to western diplomats who basically acts as robots and ignore what you have to say.

ISI, ISI, ISI.......as if all these people opposite to Moeed were given an agenda to talk about and not paying any attention to his replies. I forgot how many times he had to repeat himself. At times like these, there has to be counter strike to put these kind in cornor. Why we shy away from the role of CIA, MI6, BND etc in Afghanistan for last two decades, where under their nose a massive terrorist campaign was launched against Pakistani citizens in which 80k plus died.
You are absolutely right and it seems these idiots come without any preparation and ask the same questions again and again with a slight twist. You cannot get ISI and Special units of PA involvement IN
Afghanistan out of them. However it is our fault as well in that we have not countered this rhetoric. Also it is our need to keep the West engaged which is why such drivel has to be tolerated and responded to objectively. In this regards he has done a pretty good job of it. He remains polite and knows which points to emphasise and which ones to push under the rugs which is a very effective way of dealing with the situation.

We must make them feel the heat without being apologetic. 80k Pakistanis, including our children is no freaking joke. The narrative MUST quickly shift to "80k Pakistani citizens died in terrorist campaign launched from American/NATO occupied Afghanistan." If you dont do that, then be prepared to keep on getting shafted in future as well. They will only refrain and back off when they fear their own pants can be taken down infront of every one.

I agree that the narrative needs reinforcing in the same manner" 80k lives lost and 150b loss to the exchequer for A WAR THAT WAS NOT OUR'S NOR OF OUR DOING.". As to getting shafted you will do so if you do not fight your corner hard and give in to demands of other people for petty personal gains".

You know nothing about Saudi Arabia but Raisi is now your new supreme leader.

There are daily killings, jurnos. included by state of Iran, some times even for asking for COVID vaccine but you don't want head of IRGC be removed from power and jailed.

If there was any shred of evidence, Pakistani hackers would have lead the campaign against the MBS. Since we all know IRGC draws it's support from Pakistan's ruling party and most of it's voters.
