Egypt is well hedged by Israel, an ally of ours. And Egypt is a shambles, no offence.

KSA is also a friend, but lets just say their take on religion and our religion are at odds. Plus they have historically been close with you. Be it close or controlling you, but you get the point.

Plus we have to take care of the Iranians as well, and cannot be directly cosying up with the Sauds. I think the Emiratis would be the more acceptable of the two for the Iranians.

As well as the Israelis.

We do see the UAE as a relatively more moderate and liberal Arab player, and hence its a good mix, us and them.

Plus you cannot discount the huge diaspora we have there. Nor the fact that its historically been safe refuge for many of our desperadoes. That needed looking at.

I do not know how the KSA and the UAE are with each other, but of the two, the UAE comes across as the more natural partner in the region.

The bottom line is for India to have a foothold, a proper Arab foothold in the ME. Iran gives us something. The UAE also gives us something. The two are not necessarily at loggerheads with each other.

Point 1, regarding Egypt: You are only looking at military hedging here, while the original point still remains that Egypt enjoys a favorable position in the Arab World. Israel can not negate that.

Point 2: You'd be forgetting history if you say someone or anyone is controlling Pakistan.

Point 3: Emirates/UAE is not inclined towards India, only Dubai. The other city states have closer relationship with Pakistan.

Point 4: KSA and UAE are members of GCC with close interaction. But as with all neighbours, there have been points where UAE and KSA do not look eye to eye. KSA is the heavyweight in the Arab World and GCC and that can not be denied

Point 5: Your natural ally in the Arab world is not UAE, rather Egypt. Those who understand the different Arab cultures would know this.

No we don't see it because nothing like that has happened. Yeah you have whined all over the world but it has very little implications for Pakistan as a state.

UAE are scum bag lizard eaters. They were supporting Baluch insurgency and end to the Gwadar port before the Indian alliance. Now that they have officially gone into business , our fundamental goal should be to limit them to their terror infested neighbor to the south.

Although, the Iranians are non-trustworthy as well, we can temporarily rely on them. They want security for their portion of Baluchistan, just like we do. They are not true allies, but for the short term the Iranians can be trusted. For money the Iranians will pimp themselves out to India as well, but their seniors will realize the geopolitical effect of such an action.

The Arabs wanted us as slaves for their tyranny against the Yemenis. We finally told them to go. Good. Alhumdulilah.

Pakistan is now in a very precarious situation. We might have to rely on our Iranian neighbors for the peace in our nation. The Arabs change sides like the wind going against the mountain.

They have even accepted Israel.

Well, it is true..And if you hear his speech carefully, he did mention of Pakistan....He said...."NaPak" as a word with emphasis on the PAK..So he hit Pakistan using veiled words...

Please listen to his speech.

And its world known fact Pakistan is being used by terrorist to attack other countries. It is different topic whether it is state or non state actors. But in almost every major terrorist incident Pakistan is someway or other gets the attraction.

Oh the irony,
Saying this in a country which is one of the biggest financiers of terror in muslim world.
Be careful Mr.Modi your host may take this threat to heart.
Are you at the receiving end of the terror in the muslim world or not?

.
Not surprised with Modi's statement.

Pakistan has used UAE in the past for supporting its terror operations in India.

HILE LeT'S TRANSNATIONAL TIES STRETCH FURTHER AFIELD --------------------------------------------- --------

¶7. (S) We followed up on media reports (reftel) that the Diwali bomber Tariq Dar received money from an unnamed Arabian Peninsula country. Noted terrorism expert Ajai Sahni (STRICTLY PROTECT) told us November 16 that five separate wire transfers are on record, all from the UAE. The largest of these was over 1.4 million rupees, while the remaining four totaled 800,000 Rupees, for a total value of approx. USD 49,000. Sahni said police are checking on the source accounts. Even more interestingly, Sahni reported that Dar had been arrested in April 2005 when he returned from the Haj carrying 860,000 Rupees in Saudi Riyals (approx. USD 19,000). Dar told the court then that business associates had given him the money to "invest in India," and was let go, although surveilled for a while at a low priority level, then neglected. Sahni commented that unless strong linkages to specific expenditure in a terrorist operation, or corroborated flows to identified terrorists are identified, money smugglers usually get away on such charges with a financial penalty and no jail time. Sahni lamented that establishing "terror finance" is extremely cumbersome and difficult under current Indian law. NOTE: The UAE connection is being kept very, very quiet by the police and media here, likely to avoid embarrassing the UAEG and to elicit its help. END NOTE.

Used a third country for terrorism operations against India is nothing new for Pakistan, even resulting in one of their diplomats getting kicked out.

BBC News | SOUTH ASIA | Nepal expels Pakistan diplomat

Explosives found

He and his wife were arrested when police raided the house where the explosives were found.

Last year, Nepal expelled a Pakistani diplomat alleged to have been involved in dealing in counterfeit Indian currency.
