Yes. My surname for instance is "陳", which is pronounced as "Chen" in Mandarin.

Though I am from Hong Kong so the name in my passport is written as Chan, due to HK style Romanization. Which is strange, because it actually sounds more like "Chen" in both Mandarin and Cantonese. So Chen is a better way to write it.

It would be wonderful if India and China become friends and act in a manner that is mutually beneficial.

India China has the potential to build a relationship like the one between US-Europe. But I have my doubts about if this can or will ever happen. In any case Modi represents the best hope for starting such relationship.

Every Mainlander I have met, and every Mainlander on this forum considers me Chinese.

Anyway it's not something to "consider", I am a Chinese (PRC) citizen, and an ethnic Han Chinese.

You can "consider" all you want, it won't change such simple facts.
