I disagree. Indian Muslims actually contributed immensely to the building of the current nation state of India and before that to innumerable city states and empires that constituted the subcontinent. In Europe, one could possibly argue we came along late just to reap rewards. Indian Muslims are woven into the fabric of the subcontinent, yet they still have "guest" status in the secular republic to our east. Meanwhile, other invaders in the subcontinent - the Aryans - are quite exempt from any standard guest behavioural protocols.

I would say kudos to the parents for their sense of ethics and moral values. Tyranny is to be fought everywhere.

On a side note, I have been called "katua", "Pakistani" in schools. Surely, those kids learned it too from their parents.

One suggestion. Never apologise.

If you feel squemish, or feel that Muslims are equally responsible for some of the crimes happening to them - leave Islam.

But otherwise, genuine heartfelt suggestion - never apologise to Sanghis. Even if you feel you are wrong.
