It's Mach 3 speed in some ways makes it less potent as it cannot manouvre at the end phase and so as long as it is detected in time and the SAM is fast enough, it is not that hard to shoot down.

No that's not correct. It's terminal velocity is very high and performs maneuvers before hit. Extremely hard to shoot down, only saving grace maybe be high quality electronic attack and jamming.
