There are not many left centrists - whoever I have seen claim themselves as left centrists but actually are commies with their fists concealed or pseudos who bare their fangs against right wing hindus but would detest away from doing the same against the minority fundamentalists/proselytizers/congress types who use religious politics to their convenience and their likes who spoil the religious harmony prevailing. This hypocrisy is what made some of us(like myself) take a slightly right centrist attitude.

The age of true left in India is gone after the Soviet Union. Now their only supporters are old people who cannot change their old views. So you see the fundamental difference? The claim and what they practice are different for Congress and many other parties.That is what I am pointing to.

We need to admonish BJP. Any little encouragement to them, they keep going back to their Hindutva and Ram temple. They should be left out in the cold for one or two terms and they just might come back around. It will at least help the liberal elements of BJP kick away the influence of RSS and the likes.

I agree that Congress did damage to the country with their opportunism. Both parties did not delivered what they promised.

BJP did not deliver the tough stance against terror and Pakistan. They were encountered by matters of practicality when they had to talk to Musharraf and when they had to give up terrorists. Why did they not review Muslim personal law btw(again a matter of practicality)?

Congress promises what, I don't know, may be status quo? They play petty politics and may be assume they are harmless and then the sh!t throws up a decade later to haunt the country even their own governments.

There is no progressive movement in India. Congress may claim they are it but they are not. They simply maintain status quo and make some economic reforms(like FDI in retail which I think will screw up India). The only way they are better than BJP is that they don't go with retrogressive agendas and make irreversible damage. They simply maintain status quo.

Sorry dude - i disagree with you in many ways. BJP did not go back to Ram temple agenda or retrogressive agenda when they ruled at the center. They focussed on development. The reason they did not review the personal laws is (or atleast I am inclined to think) they never had majority for themselves as it was a coalition at the center. Because it is going to be coalition at the center in 2014, I will support BJP.

As for congress, it is just not petty politics. Sonia with NAC has been taking India backwards with the socialist schemes and coupled with lack of reforms and plenty of scams they are killing Indian growth potential. Coupled with religious politics, congress will drag India down.

BJP, if it brings in development, I would be fine.That is my interest. Beyond that I am indifferent to Ram temple or Babri Masjid which begs me to raise a question - if Ram temple is not important to secular hindus why should babri masjid be important to secular muslims. The only ones who should be interested are ring wing hindus or fundamentalist muslims. So let me know if you still care about BJP's ram temple agenda to simply vote congress back to power so that they can do more damage?
