New Delhi: In the wake of the corporate espionage scandal, sources on Sunday told CNN-IBN that the Ministry of Defence had uncovered snooping in South Block in February 2014.

According to information accessed by CNN-IBN, a conversation between the then Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh and defence minister AK Antony on operational issues including deployment at the Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan borders got leaked.

After some time, the same information was intercepted by India's military intelligence in possession of Pakistan's intelligence agency - the ISI which led to a combing and debugging operation in South block.

Action was taken against some government officials. CCTV cameras were also installed throughout South Block which includes the External Affaits Ministry and the Prime Minister's Office.

Meanwhile, former defence minister AK Antony refused to comment on the case, stating that current Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar should be asked about the issue.

They might but these is totally unacceptable they cant even try to find mole and keep mum on this issue :X

They found out & supposedly took action. There is no tolerance for this kind of stuff in the MoD. The only thing here is that they didn't make it public, very few such stories get outed.

Glad that they found out, but it's scary that a conversation at the highest possible level could get leaked. I wonder how it happened - electronic bugging, or the good old 'fly on the wall' technique.

.
If the ISI has been listening to the conversation between Chief of Army and Defence minister, ab aur bacha kya hai ?

In exchange for Dawoods help in transporting looted money to Swiss via Hawala, I wonder how much of the country's secrets have Sonia and company sold to ISI.

The intel agencies did their job, uncovered the leak and took remedial action. I am willing to give "the Saint" some leeway on this, this is a matter of national security and he may not be in a position to discuss such things even if he wants to, matters of counter-espianage are highly sensitive and I think the media need to bee more responsible and less sensationalist.

Apparently the problem is much larger, since that was not the first time infos or documents were leaked, but it continued last year too. Heared that NSA Ajit Doval had warned the current government about this problem in October too, but if I'm not mistaken it was Delhi police that covered up the leakages in the Oil Ministry and confirmed similar issues about Defence Ministry documents too.
This is a crucial problem and any Government / Ministry has to act with full force to counter this!
