As far as I know Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar are all armed with Chinese or Russian aircrafts and Nepal doesn't have an airforce.

LOL. all these countries you mentioned have China as a major arms supplier.

Bangladesh already ordered 300 type 59Gs( type 96G turret on type 59) and unknown amounts of type 96G. They even use type 92 as standard issue.

They use C802 and C803 in their little navy.

They use A 5s and F 7s in their air force.

Didn't they build teja 1 with export in mind too? i still remember many indian members hyped how many tejas can be exported and make big money bla bla..
So why did MOD have to tell HAL this now? Perhaps they already don't see teja 2 in IAF :agree:

No, I dont think so. To busy trying to replace the MIG 21s. Export will be an after thought I would think.

And random Indian say a lot of things on the internet. The people in Bangalore working their @sses off on India's first efforts are much more humble then Indians on the internet.

I would be happy if it were to cost 40million $ a piece but this is the price tag for the current Tejas!!!!

Its actually more than 40 million!!!!!!

Its capabilities do not justify that price.

What country is sanctioned by US, China, and Russia and is rich enough to buy a plane like that?

Here is another one for my friend peaceful!

The price might also include setting up of infrastructure and BTW the GE engine itself costs a quarter of the A/C's final price and what do you mean by stating that it's capabilities do not justify the price tag???

I simply mean that something like a mid level F 16, or Su 30 would be in that price range.

. . .
Can someone tell me if its really $40 million? I thought it was $30 million!!

It costs from 25-35 million $ depending on configuration as says one of the HAL engineer who is doing masters in our Institute and he also says that MKI cost 350 crore (80million $) a plane.
