The TFX's parameters aren't clear at the moment. Remember, the TFX will be designed for Turkish requirements, and the TuAF already has a stealth strike fighter in the F-35 Lightning II. The TFX is being sought to replace the TuAF's F-16s, which are medium-weight jets. It also appears that the PAF is looking at the TFX to replace the F-16s.ok, so when will this ethos be expanded into a more desirable medium weight aircraft?
note te tfx is not medium weight the whole point of a stealth fighter is hold hold weapons internally the tfx having 4 internal bays suitable for aim-120 is not good enough. in regards to even a good medium weight fighter pakistan wont have none in the near or the future as there are none (yes that includes the j20 being a no no for export)
thankfully were having mear discussion, not a meeting on the direction of the air force.
In my opinion, the PAC AvDI project will aim for an original design that is smaller than anything currently shown around the world. It'd be the long-term successor of the JF-17. It wouldn't be surprising if they recycle the underlying concept (e.g. single-engine 90~100 kN turbofan), but with heavy composite usage, sensor fusion and perhaps even unmanned versions (in line with 5+/6th-gen concepts).
