Missile Defence for NCR ready, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata next

never knew kolkata was getting one too... what about mumbai?? Is there any news for that??
and how much time will be needed to construct these defences?? How long did it take for delhi??

I think India made huge production bases for BMD missiles. I heard somewhere in 2007/08 that DRDO gonna establish a production facility for 200 AAD missiles per year.

I guess it costs around $2 to $2.5 billion for a city like Delhi. few hundreds of missiles with radars and other facilities.

I think the reported cost a while back was $4-5 BN for the Delhi BMD.

I think 3 LRTR-2, 4/5 MFCR, 200 AAD, 100 PAD and related MCC/LCC should not cost more than $ 2.5 billion. But things can be different though.

appr costs

3 LRTR-2 (120 million)
5 MFCR (125 million)
200 AAD (800 million)
100 PAD (800 million)
MCC/LCC and others ( 500 million)

.
Both. One for exo and another for endo.

Which city you live in? Let me know to check the list, but Kualalumpur is not there for sure. :P

Hometown is Mangalore. I hope they cover my city with the BMD by the time I retire and go back to Mangalore. For the time being I'm safe in KL, since Pakistan doesn't have missiles yet to reach Malaysia.

I think after the big cities, major military bases and production facilities will be next in the priority list for the BMD cover.

. . .
Here is the list as of now....

NCR
Mumbai
Bangalore
Kolkata
Kottarakara
Trivandrum
Ambala
Hyderabad
Patna

any one wants BMD in his/her city notify here fast. it is on first come, first served basis.... :D
hey Hyderabad was next after the four....

Why no city in Punjab is on this list? Punjab is v.clse to the border, houses many strategic infrastructure has significant numbers of military equipment deployed within and is key to the economy.

. .
Trivandrum: Home of VSSC,LPSC, Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology (one of a kind in India), Brahmos missile plant, Vizhijam Port, HQ of Southern Air Command and not to mention home to world's richest temple Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple holding wealth of around 20 billion dollars.

Kottarakara: My native town..nothing official about it :D.

I heard from reliable sources that Kottarakkara will get a BMD shield immediately after Cherpulassery gets it.;)

.
Great achievement by DRDO. Well done.

Where is Bhatinda?:angry: Why it is not on top of the list?

Because it is my town. :)

.
With New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata done, my flats would be safe :)

With Indian Regional Navigation System, we will be completely self reliant. All because of ISRO and DRDO. After securing our major cities, more can be deployed at our borders almost nullifying the threat of missile attack and giving us strategic edge.

That is the plan I huess. After securing key areas they will cover the whole Indian land mass under high altitude BMD systems. I think when PDV becomes operational they should go for it.
