Hello everyone, this is an issue that I have been noticing for a long time now. Since I am an avid follower of defense related news, I go through multiple forums. What I've noticed is that information has been regularly changed with a malicious intent to create a negative impression of Pakistan. As an example, I was checking the Wikipedia entry of the Pakistan Navy today and I found shocking additions to the page;
As you can see at the very start of the article, it mentions the following description: "often termed as a coast-guard navy as it's ships are smaller than most coast guards of the world".
So, with a fleet of 5 ocean going submarines and 10 frigates, this is termed a coast guard navy?
I have noticed an even more brazen example;
In the submarine's section, it states that "Since 1964, the narco-submarines have been active with Pakistan Navy, and five active-duty diesel electric narco-submarines and three midget submarines, MG110, are in SSGN command." This is utterly false and libelous information. Narco submarines refers to the crafts used by South American drug cartels to transport contraband to America. The word "Narco is short for "Narcotics" and it is a clear case of propaganda that is being placed on the internet against Pakistan.
I have seen other instances of "doctored" Wikipedia entries such on the PAF and the Pakistan army. However, when I tried to edit the pages, it said that the IP address is in a specific range which has been blocked.
I would like to urge members to counter this propaganda campaign which is obviously originating from a specific petty country.
