Mirage F-1s & F-16s were inducted in the world nearly at the same time (1973 & 1978) but later is much successful and earlier is now a relic, why??

I think Moroccons missed up a chance of buying Mirage F1s from all over the world and upgrading it with the latest electronics, structure and engine over haul within Morocco with French help.
Enabling it to become a multipurpose fighter aircraft. I am sure Iraq-Iran-France and other operators would love to give them away for good price.

Fly by wire and superior electronics along with a very technologically advanced weapons suite. Most importantly France doesn't have as much influence over the world as US. Most allied nations want interoperability with USAF.
Iraq itself is in dire need of any available air asset. As it is the only real edge they have over IS.

France has retired Mirage F1s right? Is Mirage F1 flying with any air force today?
According to some news UAE will donate 10 Mirage-2000's to be delivered in March, if it'll happen than I expect Iraq to purchase more M-2000's from France and elsewhere, but that'll take at least a year or 2 due to pilot training.

I think Rafale will be on the list but in small nombers just like egypt.
Also buying m2k from france is not a good way since they will be expensive plus it soon will be obsolete, but few planes as interim would be good.
New built takes a long time and costs a lot more, it would take 3+ years like it's taking that much time with the F-16's. Iraq is in need of aircraft other countries wish to sell.
It depends, France won't sell all of it's Mirages but only some. They will upgrade others, Iraq could reach a deal with them though. The aircraft will mostly be for ground targeting and air deterrence which it can do.

OK, so what you think how many we would need? bro in reality we would need big nomber but that big nomber with m2k would be so expensive don't forget the french offered the mirage f1 for 50 millions so how much they going to ask for their m2k?
see if we get the 10 from the UAE plus 12-14 from france that will be adequate for now untill we get some better planes or cheap ones but can do the job.
See I don't know if I'm so ambitious or so realistic. I think Iraq needs like 72 Rafale for the next 6-8 years with the sae nomber of SU-30 or 35 or even the migs when they are ready this way we would have some decent air force and bear in mind the civil war in Iraq won't settle tomorrow so we still need this amount and this kind within that period.
That's why we shouldnt waste the money for second hand m2k or f-16.
