The UAE air force is satisfied with the performances of its Mirage 2000-9s massively engaged in operations in Yemen. It is the most advanced version of the Mirage 2000 equipped with a RDY-2 radar, with a refueling capacity,and the capacity to fire the Black Shaheen (SCALP) cruise missile and the anti-ship missile Exocet.

Emirati officials are especially satisfied with the very good performances of the M53 P2 motors :
The number of flight hours increased from 9 000 to 15 000 a year for several months without a decline in the operational aircraft availability.

Furthermore,Abu Dhabi and Paris are in talk to integrate the AASM bomb on the aircraft,the Emiatis wishing to convince Dassault to accept the rapid integration of the AASM bomb on the Mirage 2000-9,while Dassault insists to reserve it for the Rafale.
Talks about this are planned on Le Drian's (french MoD) visit to the Emirates in the coming weeks.

When i was a kid .. I used to tear apart from from the Army published Green Book which had pics of PAF aircrafts and other military articles and stuff.. For some odd reason the mirage always attracted me rather than the sexy F-16..

Mirage was always beautiful and a joy to fly(as told by many pilots around the world). As Giora Epstein in one of his interviews told 'One can have a lot of victories in an F 16 but it never had the feel that a Mirage will have."

This aircraft is the equal of the F-16. It is better at high-altitude while the F-16 reigns at low altitude.
