Militants not dangerous to Pakistan should not be targeted: Sartaj

.
Selection of better words was expected from a seasoned bureaucrat and politician such as Aziz. However, he has grown very old and should refrain from giving interviews on sensitive issues.
Absolutely, which is why critical posts such as these should be given to individuals with the necessary experience. Tarek Fatemi, IMO, should be the lead on foreign policy for the PMLN, not Sartaj Aziz.

The FO appears to have issued a clarification:

Hindu extremists bombed Samjhauta Express @sreekumarhttp://www.dawn.com/news/695646/hindu-extremists-bombed-samjhauta-express

NEW DELHI: Hindu extremists carried out the 2007 false flag attack on the Samjhauta Express, which was previously blamed on Muslim groups, local reports said citing police interrogation of an arrested suspect.

They said Kamal Chauhan, a disgruntled worker of the Hindu revivalist Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS, National Volunteer Corp), was arrested on Sunday by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) from Noida near Delhi.

According to the NIA, Mr Chauhan had planted the bombs on board the Samjhauta Express after undergoing training in arms and explosives in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

The accused was taken to Panchkula court in Haryana, which granted NIA his custody till February 24 for questioning him on his alleged role in the blast in the Delhi-Lahore train that left 68 people, mostly Pakistanis, dead. Some garbled TV clips showed Mr Chauhan as admitting to his crime but the clips were blurred and inaudible.

NIA investigations revealed that Mr Chauhan along with Ramchandra Kalasangra, alias Ramji, and Lokesh Sharma, also charged in the case, planted the explosives in the train at Old Delhi, from where the train originates, NIA’s Special Prosecutor R. K. Handa said outside the court after the in-camera proceedings in the case.

Mr Chauhan is believed to be a close aide of Kalasangra and Sandeep Dange, key accused in the Samjhauta case. The NIA had sought his remand for a fortnight.

“We have to unearth his complete involvement and association. During investigations, it has come to light that Chauhan underwent extensive training in handling of weapons and explosives. He took training at Karni Singh shooting range in Faridabad (Haryana) and a register seized by CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) on August 10, 2011 has the entries of his name in that shooting range. He also took explosives and arms training at Bagli in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh),” Mr Handa said.

“To unearth more information about execution of the plan, preparations that were made, a thorough investigation is required, for which we have sought the remand,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Chauhan’s counsel Anil Soni and Shailender Babbar alleged that his arrest was “politically motivated” and aimed at influencing the ongoing polls in Uttar Pradesh while his family said he was a farmer by profession and in “no way involved in the crime”.

The NIA has concluded that the bombs used in the blast were prepared by Dange, a right wing militant who is absconding and is alleged to be the core of attacks planned and executed since 2002.

NIA is also looking for Dange’s close associate Mr Kalasangra in connection with the case.

After a four-year probe, the NIA had on June 20, 2011, charged Aseemanand, Sunil Joshi (now dead), Lokesh Sharma, Dange alias Parmanand and Kalasangra for hatching a criminal conspiracy which resulted in blasts in the Samjhauta Express near Deewana railway station in Haryana’s Panipat district, about 80 km from Delhi. NIA is also investigating the role of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and Indresh Kumar in the blasts.

TTP, Jundullah and LEJ are killing innocent civilians in Pakistan, our priority should be hunting them down first.
Only then does the LET, Hizbul Mujahideen come. We need to focus on priorities.
no wonder Americans followed the same philosophy and didnt bother with hitting TTP, BLA bases in Afghanistan.

“Why should America’s enemies unnecessarily become our enemies...Some of them were dangerous for us and some are not. Why must we make enemies out of them all?”
The simple answer is because it's the law. Really.

Post-9/11 U.N. Security Council Resolution 1373 forbade the unchallenged establishment of terror havens. The Resolution falls completely with in the S.C.'s remit and invokes Chapter VII so it has the force of law - and as a U.N. member-state Pakistan is obliged to make it the highest law in the land and mandatory to enforce, under pain of nulled sovereignty.

.
This is simply a matter of priority. Any country facing a massive amount of terrorism will first look to classify militant groups by the level of threat they are.

It would be something like this:
TTP, Jundullah and LEJ are killing innocent civilians in Pakistan, our priority should be hunting them down first.
Only then does the LET, Hizbul Mujahideen come. We need to focus on priorities.

Also I don't usually do comparisons but in India there is a problem too. Indians generally do not take action against Hindutvadis. The difference between our countries is this. Right wing terrorists (Like the TTP) are hunted down and killed in Pakistan. Despite the losses we continue to fight against terrorism where other nations may have given up. India did not take action against RSS even though it was an RSS member that shot Gandhi.

Yet another case of Pak caught in its own web of lies. The usual modus-operandi. When caught with pants down or hand in the cookie jar, just admit. Kargil, Mumbai 26/11 the list goes on and on.

Hey TTP is not a threat to Afghanistan so why should they cooperate with Pak. I think Pak's intimate connections with terrorism are not going to go away anytime soon if at all. Need another 1971 then may be. May be

can you suggest a solution for RSS? They have more than 40,000 branches all over India and are responsible for every ills of our society. They are openly running terrorist factory in our motherland with full support from our govt. and sadly there is no concept of good terrorist and bad terrorist in RSS. All of them are bad ones. Some of these bad.. bad.. terrorists have also penetrated the PDF. This guy @SarthakGanguly is one of them. Mods must take action against this guy. How can they allow this terrorist on PDF?
You want to hijack my attempt to hijack this forum for my nefarious agenda?

America is different, I believe. They have the largest and most powerful armed force in the world. They can and should be willing to go after both their enemies and enemies of Pakistan. But you are right, they are following the same philosophy even though we are not. We haven't been looking after our interests.

For example we should have protested when US signed a Nuclear deal with India, a nuclear deal they denied to us as allies and gave only to India. Anyway, at least we have China

.
don't quote me you militant :D
I know your motive, you are trying to infect the PDF members with your hidden hindutva terror agenda
but i am immune to that
This feeling of immunity is a symptom of the Hindutva infection. :haha:
In any case, I come in Peace, thou shalt be assimilated.

I hope India continues it's tested, bloody and effective policy of eliminating EVERY group that has raised weapon against the State.

It's about creditability...u think after A.Q.Khan incident USA will take risk to sign a deal on nuke with u?....u have given a N.Korea to the world.... Stop crying like a baby again.
