Are we getting SM2s? I don't see it on Orko_8's drawings

No, for indigenous Submarine, it is just the conceptual design, we have to build U-214TN with German in order to get know-how before.

TF-2000 is not a big deal, the main part or this frigate is APAR radar.

Actually, The important part of program is about USA permission to integrate one of SM-2/3 into Havelsan GENESIS Combat management system to be used by Aselsan APAR phased array radar. You know USA export those missiles as Combat management system solution (Spain, Japan, S. Korea..etc), I mean Aegis Combat Management system comes with radar+combat Management fusion system+ Standart missiles. Turkey is one of the first country which require SM-2 or 3 missiles alone and Based on Missile selection, The final design, deck volume based on missile selection...etc will be revealed and Production will commence for TF-2000. That's why Milgem-S production will be transfered to a private shipyard to be announced by SSIK meeting in November 2012.

In September 2011, Raytheon announced successful testing for a prototype dual-band datalink, allowing ships that use either Lockheed Martin’s SPY-1/ AEGIS system, or Thales Nederland’s SMART-L and/or APAR radars, to employ the full range of long-range Standard Missiles for air defense. That matters, because the SM-* family also includes a number of options with missile defense capabilities…

Raytheon’s Datalink: A New Naval Standard for the Standard?

Currently, Smart-L is the sole radar system Raytheon is working on to integrate SM-2/3 missile systems on platforms using this radar. It is about high percentage of costumers using Smart-L and expanding the markets share of SM missiles worldwide in order to cut the likely success of Aster missiles which mostly integrated on platforms using Smart-L radars.

I don't think USA will give permission to integrate SM series missile systems on Genesis CMS + Cafrad APAR radar combination. Most probably, Turkish officials use Patriot SAM selection (4 billion $ ) as a card for SM missile permissions. That's why Long Range SAM Desicion is delaying and delaying and delaying...

Worldwide Navies using Aegis Combat Management Package(Missiles+Radar+CMS):
With this package, Even If you manufacture all part of yourwarship, You can't upgrade the most strategic systems, can't change anything without USA permission)

Spain
Norway
Japan
S. Korea
Australia

The Worldwide Navies Using Smart-L radar instead of Aegis.

Germany: 4
Netherland:3
Denmark:3
French:2 (Smart-L variant)
Italy:2 (Smart-L variant)
UK: 7 (Smart-L variant)
UK Queen Elizabet Class AC
S. Korea Dokdo

Noone of those warships has SM missiles. Market is really big which makes Raytheon's mouth water not to let all $ for French MBDA and Aster series VL missiles.

What about Turkey ? With a simple calculation, For 6 friagate, Turkey will order 6 MK-41 V launchers (Suppose that The Launchers has 48 SM-2 cells similar with French Horizon).

48X6= 288 ready to fire SM-2 missiles + spare missiles

This is what i wanted to know, We have no idea if they will sell us SM2s and we don't have any other alternatives, we don't buy from France or Russia... relations with China became fuzzy again -and their missiles are not comperable- I'm out of options...

This kind of technology takes years to develop :/
