MiG-21 Fighter Jet Crashes In Himachal Pradesh, No News On Pilot
The MiG-21 BIS is one of the oldest variants of the fighter in service. This is the second Indian Air Force fighter jet crash in two months.

KANGRA: A MiG-21 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force has crashed in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. It is unclear if the pilot managed to eject from the jet and survived.

The accident took place after 1 pm.

A video shows the wreckage of the jet which took off from Punjab's Pathankot, a frontline Indian Air Force base. Visuals from the site of the accident showed a part of the aircraft engulfed in flames, lying in what appears to be a field.

The MiG-21 BIS is one of the oldest variants of the fighter in service.

The Indian Air Force has been the world's largest operator of the jet, the first variants of which entered service with the air force in the sixties.

This is the second Indian Air Force fighter jet crash in two months.

A senior Air Commodore was killed in a Jaguar fighter-bomber in Kuchh.

Police and rescue teams are on the way to the site in Mehra Palli in Kangra's Patta Jatiyan where the fighter jet crashed.

CAN'T SAY ABOUT MIG 21 AS IT IS GOOD AIRCRAFT PILOTED BY OTHER AIR FORCES AS WELL BUT INDIAN AIR FORCE LOSING SU-30 AIRCRAFT AS WELL.
