Well remember they only supply the software not the hardware (yes, I know about the Surface) while Apple does both and also has a successful phone and tablet business.

Yes software + hardware doubles sales profit. What I don't understand why did Microsoft offer Windows 10 free upgrade for any old versions of windows, when they could have charged premium $199 per OS install?

Me neither, I kept using Win 7 for a long long time before moving to directly to 10, I tried Win 8 for sometime but didn't like it at all.

Yes, seems I just got used to 10 why the hell would I want another upgrade.

Microsoft is a great company with a diversified range of products and services but this is temporary as Apple got hit by the chip shortage far more than Microsoft.

Apple is instrincally a more valuable company and will soon again be the world's most valued company.
