Mi-35M Attack Helicopter
The multirole Mi-35M attack helicopter is a comprehensive modernisation of the Mi-24V. The Mi-35M was developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, and has been series produced at Rostvertol since 2005.

The Mi-35M offers round the clock:
  • Combat use of guided and unguided weapons in regular and challenging climate conditions;
  • Operational for attack flights at altitudes of 10-25 m daytime and 50 m at night over land or water.

For round-the-clock combat use, the Mi-35M is equipped with the latest navigation and avionics suite with multifunction coloured displays, target sights system that includes a thermal imager and TV channels, laser range finder and location finder.

The Mi-35M is distinguished by its improved construction. It is equipped with the latest Klimov-produced powerful VK-2500 turboshaft engines, fibreglass main rotor blades, main rotor head with elastomeric joints, a new swashplate and X-type tail rotor. The Mi-35M’s fuselage boasts shortened stub wings and fixed landing gear.

The Mi-35M boasts enhanced flight capabilities, and can be operated at high temperatures and in mountainous terrain. The Mi-35M’s design ensures low noise levels, greater combat resilience, and reduces the workload on maintenance staff.

In addition to its attack capabilities, the Mi-35M can also be used in other operations:

  • Landing-transporting up to 8 paratroopers, with equipment, in the transport cabin;
  • Transporting military supplies or other cargo weighing up to 1,500 kg internally. The Mi-35M is also fitted with an external sling system, expanding its cargo carrying capacity to 2,400 kg.
  • Medical uses include carrying the sick and injured along with medical personnel.
Mi-24/25/35 helicopters have proved their high levels of operational efficiency over many years in service. The Mi-35M combines this unique experience of combat operation with the latest achievements and developments in helicopter building.

The Mi-35 is operated by the Armed Forces of Russia, Venezuela, Brazil and Azerbaijan.

@Jango @Icarus @Gufi @balixd
How many of these are we getting again? Plus I also read on Globalfirepower site yesterday that Pakistan has more attack helicopters than india, is this true?

.
1) 4 have been confirmed. Beyond that, nothing has been publicly disclosed but my guess is another 8 ~ 12 minimum, if not more.

2) Currently PA Aviation has +/-49 Cobras + 15 more Zulu version on order.

3) Z10 is supposed to make up the lower tier and a number like 50 has been heard @Jango any comments?

4) Indian Army Aviation has 20 Mi-35, 7 Rudra, 3 LCH plus a lot more on order. They are inducting more, and newer types (AH-64 Apache) as well. They will have a bigger fleet in the foreseeable future. But at the moment yes they are numerically behind.

.
Well written information.

Will be thankful if you point out some difference between what Pakistan is getting and what IAF operates.

.
TTP only need some stingers this shit will fall like a rock
as we saw in afghan war

. .
in attack helicopters currently we have
+- 49 AH1F cobra's (which will be replaced by different helicopter)
and 3 WZ10 helicopters
and in scouting and light attack 10 Fennec 550 C3 version (total 27 purchased , only 10 are armed)

On Confirm Order
15 AH1Z Zulu Viper Attack helicopter
4 Mi35 M helicopters

Future orders assumptions
More Mi35
More Z10 or any other attack helicopter to replace AH1F Cobra
Rest of Fennec/ Ecureuil will be enhanced with armed capabilities

.
I remember about 5 years ago, PDF posters used to ridicule the Mi35 which India operated saying that their fleet of Cobras was much better and Mi35 can easily be shot down by Stinger, as was seen during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

How times have changed

Don't try to enlighten those guys here who have practically demonstrated that stuff back in 80s....but this is 2015 dear....wake up and update yourself.

.
And yes, India will replace Mi35 with the Apaches and deal is expected to be signed before Modi leaves for UNGA
Initial contract is for 22 Apaches, with option for another 11
I expect the 2 Apache sqds to be deployed in the Northeast in support of the Mountain strike corp
While Rudra and LCH will form the lower end of attack fleet

they made fun of russian fighters also perticlarrlli flankers now they are going gaga over it as china is buying them and they might have a chance to own a squad of that too

but that apart hinds are a waste to be used on high altitude warfare and russians learnt it the hard way and that we also learnet in kargil hence the LCH was concieved and LCH wether fro IA or for IAF will give back up to spearhead (apaches) in 3:1 ratio followed by rudras and armed dhruvs

. .
Mi35 M will be mainly used by paramilitary and Anti narcotic force ... So it is better for them
ya but 4 is a very small number hinds are best for low altitude terrain but way too heavy for high terrain warfare and have onli chaffs and flairs onli for anty missile defnce
