Mexican cartel massacres US women, children: 9 killed, 8 injured in Mexican ambush; Trump responds

Exactly. The money involved in cartels is so astronomical that the presence of well-entrenched, well-connected cartels is an existential threat to Mexican society and state. Only a psychotic quasi-dictator can hope to have any chance at eradicating this, especially given that some Mexican cartels were literally formed by elite commandos dropping out of the Armed Forces and jumping over to the 'dark side.' The money easily makes its way into the corridors of power.

Money trumps everything

Do the cartels have tanks and rockets launchers ?

https://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/weapons-of-isis.asp

Besides, ISIS has 1.8 billion Muslims, out of which millions of extremists could be recruited by ISIS which have sympathy for their cause. What is the numerical strength of the cartels ? How many Mexicans are there in total ? and how many that have sympathy for the cartels ?

Also, don't forget that ISIS fights to die, they aren't afraid of death since they think they are doing it for their religion and Allah will reward them in the future, whereas cartels fight for money. How many suicide bombers can the cartels produce ?

I genuinely believe that the cartels are powerful primarily due to Mexican government's corruption. A similar assault on the cartels as faced by the ISIS, would wipe out the cartels completely.

Just my opinion.

Are you talking about this ?

Update: It looks like ISIS doesn’t have to worry about El Chapo just yet. News first reported on Cartelblog.com has turned out to be a hoax.

:what:
ISIS tanks are those stolen from regular troops who are poorly trained and abandon their tanks when overwhelmed with ISIS forces. Cartels have the capability to modify pickup trucks into tank like machines

A seized narco tank

Also, they developed the capability to build mini submarines to transport their drugs and I don't think it's a big deal to weaponize em given the money they have at their disposal

ISIS is an organization created by the US to fulfill it's interests and it is a complicated scenario. ISIS has lost ground to other militia groups and mainstream Syrian army backed by Russia. Now that their leader is dead, it no more than a dead snake until someone eventually takes up and re-organizes it. Why don't you watch "Narcos" on netflix which gives you a brief understanding of what the cartels are capable of. I'm sure the actions of cartels no way affect Asians in any regard but their the most dreaded and fearful force on the western hemisphere

These drug cartels are as vicious as isis.
I support war against drug cartels similar to the one fought against isis.

And what will be the result of this war? Zero. As long as Americans continue to consume drugs in vast quantities, they were always people to supply them. First, it was the Columbians. Then came the Mexican. And I'm sure there someone waiting in the wings to take over the Mexicans. So-Called America's war on drugs have been an absolute failure.

Time to treat the demand side instead of trying to fight the supply side.

Just legalize everything and be done with it. For the LEOs who lose their job, f'em.

IMO ISIS are overestimated. They only gained foothole in Iraq when there was no resistance. After that they too disorganized to do anything other then carry out suicide bombings.

Sometime ago, El Chapo threatened to retaliate against ISIS for destroying his shipments bound for some middle eastern countries.

The cartels are way powerful than what many people think of and the reason Mexican govt couldn't launch a full-scale offensive of em is they're the ones funding several politicians and govt officials

Its a satirical article.

They were Mexican-Americans...but of course they could be white

All nine people killed in Monday’s daytime attack at the border of Chihuahua and Sonora belonged to the Mexican-American LeBaron family

Saw a documentary about them.

Mitt romney is also from mexico

Might be a falseflag for convincing u.s taxpayers for building wall at mexican border
I don't understand this fixation with branding so many things as 'false flag ops'. You do understand that in a functional democratic set-up, a govt. refrains from doing anything that an opponent can use against them when the opponent is elected. It cuts their long-term chances of being in power more often than not as the first thing that an opponent does when gaining power is to dig-up skeletons and blame the last govt. for every ill.
I am not saying that such things don't happen, but that they are very rare in a democracy (unlike in a country with an autocrat at the helm).

Great to see these scumbags have such an adoring fan base.

Trump shouldn't ask permission from Mexican sold out politicians. Just get the tomahawks locked in.

And Hit where? You don't want to cause an international incident by firing missiles into population centre's? These cartels they are everywhere. Best course of action is to hope that the Mexican government takes action.

Mexico isn't a failed state for the US to have it's way. Also, these cartels operate with the support of DEA to some extent even though on the outside they project themselves as adversaries. Also, you talk as if using tomahawks is a cakewalk since it would be perceived as an attack on national & territorial sovereignty . At-most, US could only pump in more DEA agents, withdraw the covert support and pressurize respective govts to launch full-scale offensive. Even during the hunt of El-Chapo or Pablo Escobar, all offensive operations were conducted by local agencies with the support of DEA

Its a satirical article.
Yeah, it turned out to be a hoax eventually but people on certain forums dominated by North & South Americans say the cartels are way more powerful than their governments and the reason these cartels couldn't be brought down even with the active involvement of DEA is the cartels run the governments
