Metro creates Traffic jams in Lahore !

This is what happens when you dont "plan" your projects... now alteast 7 underpasses/flyover would be required to built before this traffic mess could be solved to some extend...

Anyways I think Shahbaz did not want to risk delaying the project anymore as the elections loom closer. A mistake that may cost him dear.

That's most idiotic thing - now how one well make underpass/flyover? you need alternate routes and these buses can't turn as per wish.

Just so you guys know, not all signals are put to work in intersections. Thats make some difference. You can see traffic wardens controlling temporarily in may directions. Also construction is going in which includes carpeting roads. Just be patient.

Yar down town mein kafi bura hall hai aaj kal... this is a permanent headache, it needs to be solved asap.

There is some flaw in planning, but nevertheless, i see good light. What happens when people are stuck in traffic ? DUH people are forced to use 'Metro' to get to their destination faster. This is the beginning phase to promote public transport. So let me get this straight. Let us suppose there were no flyovers and underpasses. Would that help in any cause ? No People would be stuck in traffic even more on smaller roads. Remember this is a city of 10 million bachoo.

You'll get this if you support the Sharif brothers. It is easy to take 10% of Punjab's budget for 5 years and spend it on Lahore, before the elections, to buy votes. People are neglecting the fact that rest of Punjab is in the same situation as before and the funds are being used for hair transplantation.

I think there is nothing wrong in what cb4 said,. Its how govt operate. If u remember correctly, Beijing has systems, that forced people to use public transports more, by limiting car buys and licences to reduce traffic and pollutions.They did it fa 2008 games and still following that.
Govt must make people use public transport more . Yes, it should be efficient too.
