Yes true. if Israelis weren't so hostile with us, we could have curbed Saudi/Wahabbi influence together.

Is it hard for you to accept that Iran is the hostile one? You can google the facts if you wanted to but you repeat the same lies. It was your first Ayatollah which declared Israel as an enemy when Israel and Iran were still allies.

Time is still there. Ignore the palestine issue or just keep to to lip service, recognize Israel in return for recognizing your sovereign right to nuclear energy and be good buddies...:D

How I wish I was the Indian PM...

Dude both of you are hostile to each other.

You guys remind me of kg kids complaining to the teacher, that it was the other one who pinched first..:D

@KS ptex is right...

Iran was the one who destroyed Iran-Israeli friendship.. the religious regime which came to power used the muslim card to strengthen its hold on people of Iran and stroke their emotions and weaken Iran in the process. it was nothing but appealing to the masses on religion card for selfish gains by stupid Iranian religious leader

Iran became victim to the same thing affecting so many young muslims- the mullah preaching jihad in name of religion in order to gain popular support.

now Israel is also hostile to Iran.. but that's understandable as Iran had become enemy of Israel long back, causing Israel to turn hostile to Iran to protect its national security which is legitimate.

Of course, now we are both hostile. They've made themselves Israel's number 1 enemy in the world, took that "prestige" out of Arab hands.

The point is that they started creating terrorists groups, and funding countless terror attacks on Israeli targets, specifically targeting Israeli civilians when Israel wanted a good relationship with Iran. Do you expect us not to retaliate?

There is an aggressor and the defender in this story, friend. It is clear which one is which.

Well I have no love lost for the Iranian mullahs, but did not Israel support the Iraqis in the Iran-Iraq war ? So how does one realistically expect Iran to not consider Israel as a hostile entity ?

Look past is past. If people keep pointing fingers that the other is wrong and they are the aggrieved party then the cycle will go on. Some on must have the initiative to say "Ok, **** happens, let's move on". But the leadership in both countries instead of seeking rapproachment are only seeking to further the hostilities. And the only net gainer in all this are the arabs - not the israelis, not the persians. Sad to see two great civilizations fighting each other. If they two can bury the hatchet, then within some time these wahhabis can be contained. They are the real cancer to the world at large.

Yes you murdering 5 of our scientists. In front of families. One in front of his 4 year old daughter's kindergarten. Causing damage to our scientific progress with Stuxnet and so on.

You are right, the aggressor is very evident.

What support for Iraq?
Israeli support for Iran during the Iran

Aside for the fact that the Iranian aggression towards Israel started way before the Iraqi-Iranian war.

Well well....looking at Ptex and Shahin..this is why I think why Indians should not meddle in their affairs. Looks like there is no middle ground..:(

Oh ok. I stand corrected. :)

But I still maintain - **** happens. Move on Jooos and Iranis. You two have much in common with each other..

The very same link Ptex posted. Under goals section:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_support_for_Iran_during_the_Iran–Iraq_war#Goals

The aim of this support was to extend fighting, weaken both countries and increase Israeli arms trade. Not some angelic help for Iranians that Ptex wants to show.
Yeah, you should be thankful. Israeli help helped you not to be conquered by Iraq. Not to mention that Israel bombed the Iraqi Nuclear reactor which would have ended Iran if it were not for Israel.

It was business, you gained from it and so did we. No need to be thankful...

You should have declared an day of celebration in the name of Israel, because if it were not for us, there might not be half of what is called Iran today.

Let's continue to read what the rest of the goals were:

Trita Parsi writes that Israel supplied Iran with arms and ammunition because it viewed Iraq as a danger to the peace process in the Middle East. Ariel Sharon believed it was important to "leave a small window open" to the possibility of good relations with Iran in the future.[2] According to David Menashri of Tel Aviv University, a leading expert on Iran, "Throughout the 1980s, no one in Israel said anything about an Iranian threat - the word wasn't even uttered." [13]

But after the war, you denied any help from Israel and turned your back on any possibility of a relationship and now you are no better than the Wahabists you despise.

First of all, who cares what Trita Parsi thinks? I could bring many more credable examples of what famous Jews like Noam Chomsky or Norman Finkelstein believe.

now you are no better than the Wahabists you despise.

Care to elaborate on that?
