As you might have read or heard, Army Vice Chief General John Campbell will be replacing General Dunford, as the new Commander of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. Gen. Campbell has already met with military and civilian leaders to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan and its effects to the neighboring countries. One of the key conversations he had was about militants crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan due to the vast and porous border. This is a significant challenge that is, and has been, on the table for the U.S, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. At a media roundtable at the Pentagon, while emphasizing on U.S. – Pakistan relationship he stated that “Let's work together to figure out solutions. What we'll try to do is continue to work this [military-to-military] relationship. The insurgents cross back and forth along the porous Afghan-Pakistan border so the discussions and efforts to root them out are important to the leaders and people of both countries.” Pointing to the need of securing stability in the region through United States’ continued efforts and presence in Afghanistan he stated, “Ninety-nine percent of the Afghans want us to stay”

Pakistan has done it's part, why has the US not pressured Afghanistan to do it's own?
