Meet Shahed-171 Simorgh Iranian Multi-Role Jet-Powered Stealth Un-Manned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) of Iran.

This drone is been designed for intelligence-gathering, reconnaissance and attack operations. By design, it is a flying wing. It is constructed mostly out of fiber glass. Iran claims it can be armed with 4 laser-guided munitions. It is tactical in nature. It can be mounted on a vehicle and doesn’t need a runway. The vehicle, by driving fast, supposedly gives it enough lift to gain initial altitude.

It also has un-armed intelligence, surveillance, targeting and reconnaissance version.

. . . .
Everyone started with a copy
But the point is they started
My point behind this was that Iranians hacked and landed rq170 and then they probably made copy.
But given the Iranians Qaher and Fateh jets, they cannot be trusted easily. this could be another mock.
Let this drone be mass produced and inducted first.

.

Not really. Just by making edgy air-frame, it doesn't mean it's stealthy or a copy of the real thing to work like the original either. Just by looking at the airframe, one can tell it's heavier metal / aluminum. Stealth materials look like carbon fiber and anyone with experience can tell.

Also, these guys show something new every year but nothing really goes into serial production. So these are probably R&D projects with metal based prototypes. A whole new industry is needed to built stealthy airframe. This country is many years away from that and that also with the Chinese helping them.

Shahed family of drones have been mass produced and are being used all over region with the latest operations being attack on Israeli ship that was being protected by US aircraft carrier and one US destroyer by a Shahed-136 stealth drone

one Shahed-161 fly deep in to Israeli air space with some analysts saying Israeli air defense unable to luck on it to shot it down

up to 50 Shahed stealth versions were used in an biggest IRGC drone exercise which was largest use of any stealth drone in resent history.

Hello, I figured I should add to this, what you have mentioned is already achieved in Iran. The various RQ-170 models were built before Iran had developed more experience with carbon fiber airframes, but we could see a new variant of the RQ-170 design with a carbon fiber airframe, perhaps even a larger one due to the weight reduction in the future.

Exhibit A: [Unseen drone, No name] -> I'm sure you can see the carbon frame here.

Exhibit B: Proficiency is also seen in ballistic missiles -> Raad-500 missile

Exhibit C: [Unknown delta wing drone, allegedly used to strike Saudi Arabia's largest oil refinery (Abqaiq)] Heavily defended position with SAMs I should add.

Just recently, the attack attributed to Iran on Mercer Street had undergone forensic tests by CENTCOM in Bahrain with the following picture.

Debris of the Drone recovered -> Sandwiched honeycomb RAS. Again, indicates high level of sophistication, Use of carbon fiber and fiber glass. This drone has proved itself to be reliably 'stealthy' in front of sophisticated radars.

This picture that has only come out today has come as a surprise to all of us. No one had thought Iran had been able to replicate the honeycomb structure as this drone was never officially unveiled to the public.

This is certainly a country who has been maturing their drone capabilities, this cannot be denied. Drones are Iran's most important programs to at least provide some sort of substitute for conventional manned aircraft, and it certainly will improve over time. Obviously we are not able to produce heavy drones seen in the western world, the ambition is certainly to go in that direction of heavier drones, but you should provide credit where it is due.

Iran can actually thank the USA for alot of it's leaps in this field. US has made several blunders and provided Iran with 5 different drone models including the MQ-4 of which this RAS appears to be inspired from.

Not a mock up. These UAV's have been mass produced and extensively tested in maneuvers for years. Also one example was successfully overflying Occupied Palestine or Golan on a spying mission for some time, until the zionists detected and downed it. Of all these events, pictures and videos exist. User skyshadow posted some of them above.

Just by making edgy air-frame, it doesn't mean it's stealthy or a copy of the real thing to work like the original either.

It isn't supposed to be a 1:1 copy of the RQ-170, nor are they built for the exact same mission(s). However, these RQ-170-inspired, Iranian developments (there is a whole range of them, with several different variants) do use a quasi identically shaped but scaled-down airframe, and they are stealthy indeed. The armed models even feature an internal weapons bay for additional reduction of radar signature.

Just by looking at the airframe, one can tell it's heavier metal / aluminum. Stealth materials look like carbon fiber and anyone with experience can tell.

The airframes of these Iranian low observable UAV's are made of composite materials, not heavier metals nor aluminium. On several occasions, Iran put on display domestically manufactured advanced materials. Pictures and reports about these were posted in the Iranian section of the forum. Iran has had years of experience with composite, carbon-based materials, which it uses in a wide array of products including weapons systems. User Stryker1982 provided some examples above.

Also, these guys show something new every year but nothing really goes into serial production. So these are probably R&D projects with metal based prototypes. A whole new industry is needed to built stealthy airframe. This country is many years away from that and that also with the Chinese helping them.

As indicated above, they have been in serial production for quite some time.

I hope it will be real. Although I am not sure whether the same UAV was used as its just reveled by Iran.
As far as the UCAV MALE capabilities are concerned,I Hope that Iranians will find better room in this regards as compared to fighter jet production

Thats impressive. The pictures are from real warzone or from presentation?

The UCAV reveled now is of a different category though.

the Israeli picture is from real operation the other ones are from Iranian exercise although the so called Shahed - 136 has two known attacks one in Saudi Arabia and one with Israeli ship.

Shahed stealth family has 4 known versions and 1 unknown version

Regardless if it was or not, the Iranians are doing R&D heavily and producing much more with limited resources than what Pakistan is doing currently, and that's a damn shame to put it bluntly. I have no idea what our babu's are doing besides JF-17 we assembling theirs nothing else worth mentioning. We should've been in the position of Turkey & Iran and be a major exporter of military hardware, but sadly we were fated with an autistic leadership and population.
