Nabeel Ahmad Wani, a youth from Jammu andKashmir, has secured top rank in Border Security Force’s Assistant Commandant (works) examination, reported news agencyANI.

Wani, while speaking to ANI, said that he ‘always wanted to serve the nation and fight against terrorism’.

“Would like to ask youths to follow (their) dreams, but never walk on the wrong path for that,” he added.

This news comes at a time when the valley is experiencing an unprecedented unrest situation after killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani by security forces on July 8. His killing led to violent protests which claimed lives of more than 70 people and injured thousands, mostly youth.

Such a situation also gave rise to debate over guiding the youth in the valley on a productive path and keeping them away from negative influence.

The examination was held on July, 26 by Union Public Service Commission.

For some disenfranchised youths in Kashmiri youths slain Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Burhan Wani might be a hero, or at least that is what the separatists would want the world to believe.

But for every Burhan Wani there are others who see the realities in Kashmir as it is and wanting to change it.

Be it a civil service topper or Kashmiris who join the force to fight against terrorists.

Meet Nabeel Ahmad Wani, a resident of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, who topped Border Security Force's Assistant Commandant Examination.

Wani said his aim was to do something against terrorism and felt that he could fulfil him aim by being either with the army or the BSF and that was why he decided to join the paramilitary force.

"My aim behind joining the force is to do well, and qualify for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and become an important part of the NIA and to play an important role in our country's security."

An engineer by qualification, Wani hails from a middle class family. His father was a school teacher who passed away two years ago.

He also had a message for the youths of Kashmir.
"I will urge you to take the right path; do something for your country and your motherland so that your country and motherland are recognised all over world. You all should follow your dreams and fulfil the aim of your life, but don't take any wrong path for that. Taking a wrong path is easier, but it's difficult to follow a right path. But, at the end, only those people are successful who take the right path."

This gentleman represents the silent majority of Kashmiris, the trouble is the tiny minority in a small part of the state hogs all of the limelight and is pandered to bY the intellectuals and media.

Youths like this are true face of Kashmir. I remember once I was traveling Delhi to Mumbai in a train in 2007. There were 15 guys sitting just next to my seat and they were all from Kashmir. They were singing some of famous jagjit Singh's gajal. I started talking with them and I got to know that they were all graduated and were going for holidays in Mumbai. Some of guys wanted to joing army of them. Some wanted to be professor. And they all were most patriotic like other Indians. Even they gave me their own addresses and contact numbers of Kashmir and asked me to visit Kashmir. I was so happy to see youths like this in the valley.
On the other hand these stone palter are illiterate and corrupted one. Anyone can brainwash them on the name of religion. Our forces must take care of them on full scale.
And we the people of republic of India should praise youth like Nabeel Ahamad wani.

Very true. The blame partly goes to the media, partly to our unethical political opportunism, and partly to our own policies. A few days back media reported that government is considering cutting down expenditure on security and other benefits given to the separatists, but why the hell we have given such ministerial benefits to some self-proclaimed separatists in the first place? It's bloody idiotic in every sense, you can't handle separatism with such moronic ideals.
