Medical tourism, India is the king!

After the IT sector, which has just crossed the $100 billion mark exports, equal to Morocco's GDP, the next big service industry is going to be medical tourism.

Bangladesh is still fighting against communicative diseases like TB.

Patients of End Stage diseases such as heart disease, kidney diseases or blood cancers like to travel to India as alternative option after Bangladeshi doctors declares that their disease can't be treated... Treatment like Transplants are not done widely in Bangladesh. India is a good option for that.

India needs to tie up with major insurance companies in western countries like AETNA/Bluecross to provide cost-effective health care in offshore locations.

I read somewhere that a mechanism like that was being worked out with NHS in the past but fell through owing to the poor air-connectivity to India. Time to revisit it again.
