Medical problem: Doctors please help

Meditation should help. It looks like you have a hyperactive mind so it may be juggling multiple thoughts sub consciously. Try and get more sleep, relax, and excercise before you go to a doctor.
Thank you i do excercise but will try to sleep more often to see if it works
yes no harm but take only the recommended dosage 1 or 2 tabs at max (normally)...Vitamin B12 is related with cognitive skills.
B12 is quite cheal in UK I noticed... Will probably order online... Soon

Bye for now as you all suggested i need to sleep

Salaam

.
Thank you

I will speak to my GP asap
Yes, get off it asap; I nearly lost control of my truck in the bush and went back to the specialist who put me on it and told him to take it first before prescribing to patients. Remember they get kickbacks from companies to push their products. Best is iberstratan - it is now generic and dirt cheap here. No negative effects what so ever.

Just remember to wait about a week to get the older med to flush out. drink plenty of water and get good exercise to help.

Hey @Zaki this happens to me as well though it has a different manifestation, I make similar mistakes while writing... I'm fine in speaking but while I'm writing I may write a totally different or even opposite word ... for example, If I want to write Ali and Zain are friends ..but I may end up writing "Ali or Zain are friends" or "Ali and Zain are not friends"...a lot of times when I read my comments after posting them I get surprised or even shocked so I edit to correct, especially when someone has quoted my post..
But I'm totally okay while speaking...at least no one has complained or pointed out it yet.
lol ..it very common and I am also having exact same issue .. Need good sleep and good pillow. Control your diet. Stop eating after 7 or 7.30pm. Try avoid greasy desi food. Drink lot of water and do light gym. And stop thinking about the things which you can not change.

Hello

Since last year I have a strange problem and was wondering if there is any particular name of my condition and how to treat it

Basically several times a day I am saying something and speaking something else. So if for example I was playing chess few minutes ago and I was calling Knight as Pawn... Later Queen as knight even though in my brain I was thinking correctly...

If I want to say move your hand... I might be saying move your arm or leg

It may sound funny but I have been making these mistakes for several times a day and sometimes I am trying to think about something but I am unable to name it... So i will say oh that... Yellow colour... Long... Fruit... When i just want to say Banana...i dont have difficulty in calling very easy words like banana but do find dofficulty for naming so many things of weekly use if not daily...

I hope i made myself clear

Thank you

My friend, you probably just have some mild form of dyslexia, lol. Happens to all of us. Take a couple of Tylonols, drink some tea even smoke a little shisha call me in the morning and you'll be fine lol. Don't worry you're still young and confusing a couple of chess pieces is hardly anything! Heck you should see the things I confuse on an hourly basis! :-)

In my understanding it is this disease.
Alzheimer's disease

Oh come on! lmao! STOP IT!

@Zaki its more of a bro science but all these activities won't have any adverse impact, so no harm in trying.
  • Exercise especially weight training, don't know you physical condition, however, if you can do dead lifts/squats it'll benefit for sure. These are compounds functional movement and will increase the blood flow to all of body body part and more importantly especially brain.
  • Try to learn a musical instrument, may be guitar as it forces you to use both your hands and will increase neuron activity which has correlation with improved cognitive ability.
  • Google some brain training games, alternatively, make a conscious effort to use your non dominant hand/leg, brain needs retraining to cope with this, thus extra activity of neurons, and again it leads to better cognitive functioning.
  • Have a good multivitamin, Centrum is pretty good not sure if its available in UK. Make sure it has all the vitamins & mineral, not only the essentials ones.
  • Lastly, please consult with you GP and also get a second opinion, stop or minimize your existing medication. No matter what medication you take, it always have side affects, and only take if its absolute necessary.
On a side note, take a break from the moderation of this forum, the amount of stupidity people display here will drive any sane person nuts for sure :)
Hope it helps. All the best.

Do you have too much on your mind ? Professionally, personally etc

Often we get accostomed to mental over work , the symptoms mentioned point in that direction.

The ailment may not be very severe

That was very helpful post

I do take beta blockers

Ramipril 10mg and Bisoprolol 2.5mg
I think I had sleep issues last year but these days I can sleep within 2 minutes if I want and usually do sleep for 8 hours or so.. sometimes less but I think my sleep is definitely better than last year
Zaki-bhai-jan, I read few posts in this thread. There are few parting things I will say:

1. Symptoms are just one part of a diagnosis. They are often very confusing. Also a basic adage in medical profession is, "when you hear hoofs, think horses not zebra": Meaning if you make the most common diagnosis, you will be commonly correct. In your case, instead of all these serious diseases, I have a totally different idea. It may just be mental stress. May be coupled with beta-blockers you are taking. Do not under-estimate stress though: it can show some very interesting and extremely varied symptoms and can exacerbate existing issues.

I once had this fear that I am having kidney issue: out of no-where, I just heard about someone else having it and thats it. I had almost every symptom in matter of few days : atleast the symptoms that I thought occur. A dull pain in the sides, very less urine, puffiness or swelling -- atleast I thought that, socks were leaving deep marks, something I never seen before, extreme itching, kind of white marks on skin, you name it. I went to doctor, he put me to all tests: Cret, BUN, electrolytes, ultrasound of kidneys, xray, physical exam, 24-hour urine collection, differntial filteration estimation, routine and culture test of urine -- the whole nine yard. Nothing showed up! Really nothing! There was a shadow under the kidney in x-ray but nothing in ultrasound. That shadow turned out to be that of embedded metallic piece in my knicker. I asked him, where hell I got all the symptoms. He asked me, if I were taking enough water. I wasn't and it was May. He asked me did I asked about the symptoms to other folks? I did. He told me that all those things I thought as symptoms were always there. That was 'normal' me. I misunderstood marks as swelling. I had never seen how a real swelling looks like and didn't even know the basic test for that, press and swelled up part won't pop up fast. Essentially, all that stress made me think what was normal in my body as symptoms of something I wanted to be there. This is how messed up things can get with stress. When you are stressed, your body becomes hyperaware of itself, even the smallest details which you won't notice show up as a messed up symptom. Pains you don't notice become very observable when you are looking for it.

So the crux of matter is, don't go looking for a disease, let a third party -- a doctor, make a real diagnosis. Other things will confuse you to no end and you will see symptoms which you just read from somewhere else, sometimes in a matter of hours. They should not be there but your mind will make them very very real. Trust me things I have seen when I am stressed have driven me crazy at times.

Insha-allah, you will be just fine. Relax and ask your doc to investigate and then clarify your doubts.

Why are you on beta blockers ? And since when ?
Just stopping them cold is harmful.
Speak to your doctor and then stop them.
I took them for a long time and stopped taking them 4 yrs back. Feel perfectly ok with the alternatives.
Telmisartan for bp.
But for irregular hearbeats , arrythmia , like i had , i was put on verapamil.
Disclaimer - I am a veteran of 2 procedures and not a doctor. Always go with the docs advise. And take a 2nd opinion from another doctor if not happy.

So many wonderful posts to reply but I am working today :(

1) I am taking beta blockers because I have a hypertension

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/high-blood-pressure-hypertension/

2) I will try the pills mentioned above including ashwagandha, tylonols, NUX Moscha if I am able to buy from UK.

3) I am not trying to find disease in me, I know it is something many people suffers from and most likely be a very minor problem. All I was asking was I don't think I am the only person on earth having this problem so there must be a name for it and may be there is easy cure for it.

So far I have agreed to try B12, ashwagandha, Mosch and few other pills mentioned above as it sounds like there is no harm with such medicines filled with vitamins and minerals.

I am also going to see my doctor but as my wife said my GP may just ignore it or refer to a neurosurgeon. I am not hoping my GP will take any action on it but if she (my GP) does refer me to the hospital I don't expect to be treated for another year or so (thanks to NHS) so PDF is a great platform for advice so i will follow your advice as mentioned above

Break finished so bye for now
