They cannot put their difference aside and work together because you need someone with brains to exploit those resources, refine and process them for further sale..and once again you need brain power to consume these resources as raw materials to produce finished goods..and all of this does not exist in Islamic world..a Muslim economic block is easier said than done..

Saudi Arabia is under siege of sorts, i.e., Arab Spring, U.S. Pivot to Asia, Iranian and Russian interference in Middle East, Climate Change threatening GCC economically, Globalism pushing change in Saudi society, etc. And the fact that Obama administration hasn't done any favours to Saudi Arabia in Syria.

Considering the above, I don't think Egyptian media's virulent response is very helpful. However, this isn't unique to Egypt. I recall the hostile reactions of some UAE officials when Pakistani Parliament voted against the war in Yemen due to a number of domestic issues including the fact that we were knees deep in Zarb-e-Azb. Admittedly, Saudi Arabia's response was more diplomatic. I feel Muslim world needs to be more deliberate when responding to developments.
