What's new

Media crooks.

I have long held the view that India's biggest mistake in recent times has been it's desire to emulate everything along the lines of USA. That our media has shaped up exactly like the enterprise that the American media is, is no coincidence. We should at least have had specific clauses in the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act that would prevent ownership of the media by any Industrial or Political entity.
I thought media all over the world is controlled by a higher authority and in each country the higher authority is mostly the business oligarchs.
US and India would be just 2 examples.
But I am still glad that I live in a world where media has enough freedom.
I may or may not trust the big channels but I definitely trust the citizen journalists who have cropped up in every nook and corner of this world.
Not so long back media and ppl didnt enjoy such freedom. So yeah giving media the power and freedom came with its own pros and cons.

Btw @ranjeet the chinky pic of real Ranjeet was super cute. Lolzz

Not the case everywhere Didijaan. Many Scandinavian and Germanic Nations have a fiercely independent and popular National media that is merely regulated by the Govt, not controlled by it. Many of these channels are funded by public money in the form of taxes, and have very transparent command and control structures. Even the private ones are nowhere close to being the sellouts that is the case in US and sadly, in India nowadays.

Ahhh how I wished you wouldn't have used the word "c*****" :o:
But I guess you would appreciate Ranjeet to preach rather than forcing himself or his opinion on others, especially the fairer sex.:p:

Well in this part of the world half the news gets censored.Like a murder and rape case in our area last year was suppressed and the news never made it to the newspapers. So in comparison Indian media appears to be an angel.

It might be a coincidence, I am not sure. So let's not divide congress and Bjp into devil and angels. let's just criticize or admire them on their shortfall and achievements. but with a balanced sense of judgement
