There was an Arab Boycott office based in Damascus which monitored/administered a long list of products which were banned because of Jewish/Zionist connections. So Pepsi and Wrangler among competitor products had a ball in Arab countries and raked in the shekels by the shovelful. Those were "funny times" indeed. Only Iran and Turkey were immune.

Quite right. That Arab Boycott Office is a thing of the past and a total anachronism. In parallel, there was an embargo on South Africa during the Apartheid era. But (nearly) the whole world went and did trade with them. Albeit with a great deal of subterfuge and (not to mention) added costs. Saw quite a bit of that myself.
