Meanwhile in Mexico....

This video is in Turkish and doesnt have subtitle either. i wish you d understand. This Turkish couple had their worst nightmare in a trip to Mexico. And had to cancel it as soon as they got the opportunity.

I knew Latin America was the most hecked up place on earth and this video proved me once again. Not only cartels but also law enforcement. Corruption is everywhere like cancer. Once they notice that you have some money in your pocket, you are done. They will get it from you either by killing or else. Tourists are in real danger. i d stay at the comfort of my house rather than going there for holiday and support their economy by spending there. its a no no

I remember reading from a French who worked there during 15 years. Corruption was everywhere, from the bottom to the top. He told me people were more afraid of corrupt police forces than the cartel themselves. The only forces you could trust in Mexico are armed forces (ejercito) and the federal police (policia federal).

Municipal police (policia municipal) and state police (policia estatal) were rotted by corruption and infiltrated by cartels. They could sell you to a cartel for few hundreds dollars. Why do they "collaborate" with cartels ? Because despite the job being dangerous, police officers in Mexico are paid like sh/t,only in the federal police they get "decent" salary. But that's not the only incentive..... cartels do threaten their families so they "don't have choice".

Those that refuse the "law of the strongest" either get killed or get their family members killed in dreadful ways.... The reason many are wearing masks is so cartels don't recognize them.... or for rival cartels to not recognize them....

He said again if you "stay out of the business" you don't have much to worry about the cartels, although you could still be attacked by common criminals if you are rich enough etc. Having nothing to do with the cartels doesn't mean you are 100% safe, you could be on a hijacked bus and executed in the most horrible way just so cartels can prove a point (Who's the most cruel...) or send a message to their enemies.... Life over there isn't worth much, being at the wrong place at the wrong time could be fatal....

Mexicans in their majority are lovely people though.... drugs and the consumers in North America are only fueling the violence in south and central America.... @waz @Nilgiri

If drug-related issues spike so much, the best way is to legalize that drug. That will break the back of cartels. You know these drugs are available freely on the market. There is no point in banning it if you can't enforce it at full force.
