At least 10 people were injured in a shooting Sunday night at a park in New Orleans' 9th Ward, officials said.
The shooting took place at the Bunny Friend Park in the 1900 block of Gallier Street,
WVUE reported.
New Orleans Police spokesman Tyler Gamble told the Associated Press that police were on their way to break up a large crowd at the park when gunfire erupted. Gamble said ambulances took 10 people to hospitals.
New Orleans Police Chief Michael Harrison told WVUE that additional victims could have been taken to the hospital by private vehicles.
Harrison added that police are unaware of the extent of the injuries, but no deaths have been reported.
Officers told WVUE they believe there were multiple shooters involved, and the shooting stemmed from a fight.
