Mass Riots and Human Rights Violations in US: Can They Preach China?

Despite what America shows how "tolerant" they are towards non-Whites, the old mentality about Segregation still lives on and the idea of the Jim Crow laws are still alive even though the said laws have been removed in 1965.

.
China needs to better human rights, that's a fact, apologize for the Tiananmen, apologize and make amends for other mistakes in our past. We made them be a man and say it.

China does not need to apologize for that stupid Western China-condemn day, my friend. But the Chinese police need equipment as good as their US counterparts.

Tiananmen Square protest they say  whereas in the land of freedom Americans can demonstrate without crackdown.
Looks like cops using military grade stuff to subdue peaceful Americans seeking justice.

The presence of the police is so massive and intimidating that, protesters are being muted easily. If China uses a similar (US) approach, probably the most hailed "thousands of protests" (as hailed by the Western press) will go down to a few every year. Hence, China will have a human rights record as taintless as that of the US.

Hard to get excited about a riot in some tiny tiny town in the middle of Missouri.

There's more people sitting in class at Harvard than that.

Protesters looted two stores in Ferguson

BvJF_pDIYAAqfqU.jpg

Tear gas that was used tonight. Still smelled strong.

06:54 GMT:
The tear gas used by police in Ferguson has been known for its severe effects on health. They include temporary blindness, breathing problems, and the risk of miscarriages, as well as potential heart and liver damage. But tear gas is not the only tool police have used to counter the mostly peaceful rallies in Ferguson.

Security forces there also have an M4 rifle in their arsenal - a field-army weapon used in various military conflicts. Police have also been reinforced by light-armored vehicles, which were in service in Afghanistan and Iraq.

And if that's not enough, an MK 11 sniper rifle, also used in combat, was seen as appropriate kit to tackle peaceful rallies.

Retired LAPD deputy chief Stephen Downing told RT that while the military has enemies and is trained to kill them, “law enforcement has no enemies.”

“Even the most dangerous criminal is someone entitled to the protection of the constitution,” Downing said.

Hands up, don’t shoot as police in riot gear form ranks 100 yards away.

Can we preach to China about human rights ? Absolutely we can. Making the police look like the military is not a human rights violation.

If China does not believe in the same set of freedoms and rights as we do, then what is China worrying about ? If China does not need to apologize for Tiananmen Square, then why does China's Central Publicity Dept, aka Central Propaganda Dept, which exercises editorial controls for practically all of Chinese news outlets, forbade these news outlets from reporting what happened ?

Well its true there is still segregation in the U.S, yes that is something nobody can deny. Blacks and latinos are still descriminated against. However overall, the U.S still has way more better human rights than China.
But i agree with those chinese members who say the U.S shouldnt be criticising/lecturing China everytime about this issue. However, i think its Naive for China to wish that, since our governments in the west/U.S just uses this to further their interests and gain a more positive image towards other countries, hence gaining goodwill/allies:azn:. The thing is, we in the west/U,S still have by far the most far reaching/sophisticated media channels/propaganda networks which are mainly 'privately owned'(conglomerates) unlike the more direct government controlled media/propaganda channels/media in China and Russia which is obvious and unsophisticated. So using this advantage we can basically dictate which country is bad(evil axis.lol) and who is good/benign depending on our interests. For example. had this story happened in China instead of the U.S, then believe me it would have been all over t.v/newspapers/media channels in the world, and the U.S government would have come out to condemn the use of force in quelling the protests and call for freedom of expression/minorities to be respected by the chinese government. :partay: Its true in a normal world, this will be called hypocrisy/unfair
However, we dont live in a fair/merry world do we?:D:disagree: . So any country/block will seek to use any means at their disposal to undermine a rival country and protect their own interests(which i dont find anything surprising/wrong in that), it doesnt matter whether the means we use is fair/unfair, right or wrong, what matters is the end result.:bounce: Unfortunately thats the world in which we live. So China , Russia etc should stop complaing and up their own game, if they are not up to par with the west/U.S then they have only themselves to blame. So crying everytime about how unfair/biased/western propaganda bla bla bla wont change the fact that they still are powerless/weak to change things in their own favor .
So yes, the U.S does have its own human rights issues(I have been there and even lived there for a few years, and came to noticed that compared to even my country, the U.S still has lots of catch up to do in terms of law/security/welfare/social security/healthcare etc) but overall they are still way ahead/better than China in human rights/freedom of expression. So in conclusion, yes the U.S uses propaganda/media to further their interests/shape world opinion and against their rivals, but thats how countries act/should act as far its serve their interests/objectives. its up to other rival countries to seek way to counter this if they can.:agree: So stop whinning.

racial tension is a problem here in the states.
.blacks are more likely be killed by a fellow black than a white person or a cop, but I don't see them out here protesting about that.
if you look up the data black people seem the score the lowest on about almost everything.
is this because of so called "white privilege" or the white man holding the black man down??

well, i dont think people can protests for no genuine reason bro. its when you acknowledge your faults/maistakes that you can start progressing/solving them. Even here in the U.K we had mass riots in the 80s(brixton riots) after an unarmed black teenager was wrongfully shot and killed by a police officer, this caused massed riots/looting accross the U.K same thing occured as well last year where an unarmed young black guy was shot and killed by police, in which led to one of the worst Riots in U.K history . The government started an inquiry into this case though the results are still pending. Yes we are not perfect, there are racial issues everywhere i believe, at least we have recognised this problem and have taken very good steps in the past to limit such issues. so just blaming blacks wont solve anything. its not only blacks who commit crimes, whites, Muslims, eastern rueopeans etc do commit them as well.
So singling out one race doesnt solve any problem, if anything it exercabates things

This much of weapons for police,,,,, unbelievable.
Seems they are armed themselves for marketing of their own weapons.
Racisim is stil remains in the developed nations like US.

these are emergency response unit , pretty much in every single country they are heavily armed even in Canada

Missouri Governor announces State of Emergency in Ferguson

Reader's Comment at Global Times:

"Where is Freedom, Tom, Thomas Fung, GAO Li or Goalie?

The shooting of unarmed Brown in Ferguson is yet another mockery of American championing of human rights and social justice."

LOL.

"Police radio says that a person has been shot, and it's not clear if rubber bullets were used. It's also reported that the man has been taken to hospital."

Earlier, police were announcing on a bullhorn that the protesters have to leave the area immediately."This is the police. You're in violation of the state-imposed curfew. You must disperse immediately," the police were saying.

Despite heavy rainfall and lightning, hundreds lined up the streets ahead of the curfew introduced earlier by Governor Jay Nixon who has declared a state of emergency, as authorities try to restore order after a week of mainly peaceful protests marred by occasional rioting and looting.

Hours before the curfew was set to begin, authorities have deployed riot police in the streets apparently blocking the main access routes to the protest area.

I have never seen riot control police so heavily armed like that. In riot control we use only Batons, water canons or tear Gas.

US riot police is armed like hell. They, by their sight, are intimidating. That may explain the lack of riots in the US despite of a myriad of social ills, injustices, and human rights violations. Any dissent voice that is expressed on the street, however small they are, is put down before the message is spread across the society.

That's the trick behind the seemingly stable social fabric, in the US. Not because people are satisfied, but because the state (federal and and local) is bloody heavily armed and ruthless.

I bet, if China constructs such heavily armed riot police, the number of protests will die down in no time.

I do not claim here China own the moral high ground. Each state has faults. But, I just want to point that the US has zero moral legitimacy and even less relevancy to open up its bloody mouth to lecture China.

china and russia need to sponsor more sepratism for blacks in US. Better America spends their military budget at itself instead on us.

US' internal problems must be emphasized and publicized to teach US subjects of their own situation.
