The so called violence was exaggerated and people were posting fake youtube videos which had images not of Burma but often countries like China and dead bodies of the tsunami which hit before.

The riot started with the rape and murder of a Buddhist girl and later mobs took revenge by killing 10 Muslims of which 30 people have now been arrested for this.

Yes they are ethnically Bengali but not Indian as they were not citizens of the country in 1947.
